So not only is it only branded items but its also only the first ten branded items!
Not that it makes any difference - everytime I'm stupid enough to venture back into our local Sainsburys, I come out swearing never to do so again, and missing some vital shopping item - last time 4 pints of semi skimmed milk. Utterly useless store!Adventure before Dementia!0 -
Easy enough - just put through your shopping in 3 £20 transactions. The first being any branded items that are cheaper at Asda plus non-branded shopping to take the total to £20, the second being the same for Tesco and the third being anything that is on special at Sainsburys that week. Obviously you need to make sure you buy the correct quantities of the competitor products to reflect their bogofs etc and most importantly make sure than any thing brabded on offer in Sains such as BOGOF is put through seperately as the price difference is netted over all (well all first 10) branded items.
I think it is actually pretty poor given the restrictive T&Cs so I hope we get a nice thread going and take them for as much as possible. I still smile when I remember how Tesco spent a big chunk of their marketing budget proving that they were more expensive than Asda

Doesn't apply on line and has a few catches, just a ploy to get people in their stores, thats all.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

where does it say its only the first ten branded items.0 -
I think this is pretty useless. On the whole I only buy branded items when they are on special offer, meaning they are cheaper than the equivalent supermarket brand goods. To make use of this scheme, I'd need to know what the offers are in other supermarkets on the day I go to Sainsbury's, which of course I don't.
Also, if they are going to give vouchers from the same printer that gives the "80 Nectar points when you spend £20" type coupons, are they going to service them properly so that the barcodes are printed well enough to scan? More often than not recently I've had to call the assistant over to enter the code for me as the barcode is badly-printed (and customers can't enter the number for a coupon themselves at self-service checkouts).0 -

You are reading the T&Cs incorrectly. You can have any number of branded items , but will only apply to 10 of an identical item .
So if you have ( for example ) 30 bottles of Coke - the basket cost will be calculated based on a purchase of 100 -
Yep - there seems to have been a re-write of the MSE piece removing the reference to 10 items. You are reading the T&Cs incorrectly. You can have any number of branded items , but will only apply to 10 of an identical item .

To be fair it clearly wasn't just me misreading the T&C as the MSE article clearly stated (has since been changed!) that what you got discounts for depended on the order the operator put them through the checkout!
The second half of my comment stands however - Sainsbury's Bath Green Park store is an abomination and whoever is in charge of the shambles in there needs taking outside and dumping over the bridge into the river! Just because its the only decent sized supermarket in town, doesn't mean it can take customers for granted.Adventure before Dementia!0
