Although I did find that I could do it if I parked up against my Smart Roadster - the bonnet on that car is so low that my tailgate would open over it! This came in handy for jump leads...
Oh my god it gets better, but, it's still total bolax, you cannot park in a space the size you and the OP have quoted, and what the hell does parking next to a smart roadster have to do with this thread, unless you find unloading your car over the top of someone elses acceptable??
Do any of you guys know how big slash little 3" is?
No matter how much shunting crunching bumping or barging, you cannot park in a car + 3" spaceI like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
I would love to follow you one day and jam your car in as the op was and then see if you like it
Although quite how your going to block a motorbike in is beyond me.
I suggest you re-read the OP, the poster clearly (to me) left a space behind which in her opinion, was a non space, furthermore the OP was able to go out and move her car forward, so she had ample room in front. Quite why she needs so much space is beyond me, and no doubt most annoying to her neighbours.0 -

You still have no idea what the space was like when the OP parked0 -

Absolutely and anyone who claims that they can, is well, just....lying0 -
unless they have a motorbike photome
but yes - tescobabe, when I parked, I parked close the the car in front, which then moved - a smaller car then parked in front of me - so I had room to move forward.
Not that this will help get through to you that I do know how to park and I do not annoy my neighbours by taking up more space than I need. I drive a variety of different vehicles on weekly basis, some little, some not so little. I am well aware of spatial awareness and can park each vehicle appropriately.
And as said a long time ago now, let's drop this matter as clearly it is only going to annoy you all.0 -

Sorry, I know you want to end this but I just wanted to add 1 further point:
There are obviously some incredibly good parkers out there if this topic is to be believed, (:A), but just take into account what is going to happen when you park next to the rest of us like that, who on average need a spare 5ft to park without fear of contact.
You know what will happen, you will be pushed, bumped, dented or possibly even "keyed" for parking with no consideration for others that are mere average motorists.I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Solution: Drive an old banger or even better, a company car
These days it's necessary to do this even if you aren't going to squeeze into tiny spaces, simply parking in the dead centre of a supermarket space is asking for someone to dent your doors. I've always run an old banger in addition to a nice car as a money saving measure to keep the nice car looking nice.0 -

I'll take a guess Lum as to which one has collected the most dinks.. I have a theory that it is actually intentional to trolley mark any vehicle parked next to you that is better/newer/more expensive etc etc, than yours.:A

Guinness World Record for parallel parking is 24cm and was set earlier this year.
Video of a dude fitting in a 26cm space (in german, but you get the idea) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jeFNunnYiKY To be honest it looks like there is room for improvement, Badger_Lady should put herself forward to claim the title0 -

Unfortunately you doing badger lady an injustice here.
B.L was here, talking about being able to park infront of a car and still be able to open the boot/tailgate. She said that this was possible when she parked infront of the smart roadster. For the reasons stated.
B.L. did not repeat the claim that she could park with a couple of inches infront and behind.
Perhaps those of us with:
3 cars or
2 cars and a wall or
1 car and some boxes
and
Too much time on their hands
can try to find the smallest gap possible.0
