Except for LUM who parks close to a car on the end of a bay, that car has (or should have) a clear exit, but caution, if a disabled driver then parked on the yellow line on the other side of said car they could be blocked in, and explaining to a copper that the disabled driver came later, may not be easy.
Coppers don't give a damn. I speak from experience on this one.
You'd hope that the disabled driver parking afterwards would leave enough room for the car to get out, especially since they may well need room to unload a wheelchair or similar.0 -

Whats this got to do with moneysaving?
Why do you ask?
This is the motoring forum and we discuss all sorts on here. You will find it the same on lots of other MSE boards which are not directly linked to money, eg gardening, techie stuff, lots of things get discussed, and there may not be a money saving element involved, it's just people asking for advice on things. Which, if you think about it, is also moneysaving, certainly time saving.0 -

And, as I said in the previous post, plenty of time for shuffling.
I don't care where the wheels are, unless all 4 turn at 90 degrees to the car,, you are not going to park in the gap you mentioned. Some distinct exageration afoot in this thread pinocioI like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

If you lived in the places I've lived then you'd find that's pretty standard parking. Spaces are tight so you have to get into anything that your car fits in. If that means touching the cars in front and behind then so be it. This person has obviously parked where there was a space, maybe they're used to parking in a busier street than you are and parking that close is normal. They've done no damage, so there's no issue.
I've just seen it's a T reg escort. Mk6 facelift escorts are about the easiest cars in the world to park. Mine regularly used to go in spaces quite literally 6" bigger than the car.
I think I am pretty good at parking in tight spaces but 6" bigger than the car ??!!!0 -

I would love to see a video of you parking with a couple (take it you mean 2) of inches each end of your car, 4 inches in total...no way!0 -
I'll take some pictures next time
Unfortunately (pictures are on another thread), the Hijet isn't with us any more and my Smart Roadster has a much poorer turning circle. But I can always have a go in the VW camper!Mortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0 -

I think the key question here is how long are you willing to go back and forth (concentrating hard) as opposed to how long it would take you to find a bigger, easier space and to walk back from there (or how much you might have to carry back). In our street, you would have to do it while being honked and sworn at if you took more than 30 seconds. Or if it was school-run time - 13 seconds.
I'm guessing you had a side-door on the HiJet - 'cause you can't open the back and get stuff out with 2 inches clearance can you?I need to think of something new here...0 -

Yeah - it was a campervan so there was rarely any need to take things out of the back door. Although I did find that I could do it if I parked up against my Smart Roadster - the bonnet on that car is so low that my tailgate would open over it! This came in handy for jump leads...Mortgage | £145,000Unsecured Debt | [strike]£7,000[/strike] £0 Lodgers | |0
