well i've sent off my claim for payment protection and default sums, if they pay the full amount back will wipe out majority of what I owe at the moment, then can pay the rest off and get spending limit reduced so I don't spend too much at christmas0

well after sending the letter on the 3rd April I have today received a reply
I used one of the template letters and in rough it said........Dear Sir or Madam,
Account number:
I am writing to request that you repay all the default charges and payment protection costs that have been applied to my account since 12 January 2006. I do not believe these charges reflect the true cost to Studio Cards and Gifts and are unfair and disproportionate.
The charges total £120 for default sums, plus as I believe I have been unlawfully deprived of the money I have calculated £11.07 interest at the statutory rate. Also charges of payment protection totalling £68.58 (which I requested not to have at the start of my account), plus as I believe I have been unlawfully deprived of the money I have calculated £8.42 interest at the statutory rate the amount the court will award.
I therefore ask that you repay me the full amount of £208.39. I have attached a full schedule of the default sum charges and payment protection, and interest for both with this document.
I attached the print out of the charges and interest and in the reply they have said....Dear Miss
Thank you for your recent communication.
We have decided to remove charges to the value of £81.62 as a gesture of goodwill.
Your current balance is £165.38 which is currently due, if you cannot meet this payment in one go then please call us to arrange a payment plan on
I would also like to take this time to advise you of out statement and service charge policy.
And it goes on to tell about how often I will receive a statement and that there is a service charge of 2.9% (or 2% if you pay by direct debit) of the balance, so although they don’t call it interest it actually is.
Anyway I’m not sure of what the next step would be, I am wanting to claim more back because they have only paid the £77 of payment protection which I’m confused as to how they can call a goodwill gesture as I never requested it in the first place, leaving £4.62 of default sums paid by them (out of .
What letter would I use next? Also as they have paid back £4.62 of the default sums I am guessing I only need to request back the remainder of the default sums or put in that it is the remainder of the original amount???
Although on checking my account nothing seems to have been credited back to the account, it is the same balance it was before I sent the letter.
If anyone could help it would be much appreciated as I would like to get this settled finally so I can get my spending limit reduced and at least get 1 debt wiped out (after paying off he remainder of the account).0 -

They have done this twice now, last statement has service chagre (intrest) admin late fee charge £12 and telephone late fee reminder charge £12
They phoned me to tell me my account was late and next time i looked they had charged me £12 for the phone call, so when they rang again last week for being late another time I told them i hope your not charging me for this call and the lady couldnt answer she wanted me to make the new payment so i told her well im not late for my new payment i dont have to pay for that till next week so im not technically late for payment but yes i openned my statement to find a late charge and a £12 bill for a telephone call AGAIN
my whole balance is only £2152013 Sealed Pot Challenge Member #1960

Hi Im new to this, is it possible to view back statements for Studio online?
Thanks0 -
Hi there I have finally taken the plunge and am writing to reclaim all my charges. I have come a bit unstuck and would be gratefull for any help.
I am looking for the address for The Store Catalogue. I last used it about 4 years ago. Any help much appreciated
P.s. I have tried search and googling.0 -
Hi - please move this if it's in the wrong place.
Does anyone know if I can claim charges on my catalogue - i.e. I've just had a look online and my statements only go back a year there but I have in that 12 months alone incurred 6 x £12 charges for "Insufficient Mininimum payment" or "Missed Minimimum payment". The problem being that I incurred charges most months in my last job as I got paid 2 days later in the month than when they were supposed to be paid! I know that I've had to account 3 years in total and that in the previous 2 years there were even higher charges. They always got paid, just usually a day or two late and on one occassion not the full amount.
If I can claim these, is there a 'template letter' or would it be a letter similar to the bank charges letter?
Any tips gratefully appreciated.0 -
