  • Hi dumb blonde,

I used to have a Next account that also took a fair amount for service charge. After deciding to reclaim my PPI I have just rang them to see what it is. They told me it covers me for lost and damaged items and if I was unwell and unable to meet minimum payments. I'm guessing that is PPI then? Sorry am new to this hope this helps.

If its interest then you can't claim that back

  • Hi I am new to this, could someone please confirm that I can claim back late payment charges and admin charges from La Redoute Catalogues, I get £12 without fail every month but am on a plan with CCCS who send them £5. This means that the account goes up by £7 each month, I am never going to get it paid off!

Just received a letter offering me £72 worth of charges back. I originally asked for £170 and it took 2 letters to get this but i am happy with it and will accept.

Hi, I am just going through my studio statements to claim back default sums (admin charge) and also payment protection which I have been charged for but told them at the start of the account I didn't want because I was unemployed already to no point in having it.

Anyway back to the point, I have found on my statements something called service charge, I have phoned and asked studio about this before and the person I spoke to told it wasn't interest because they do not charge interest on accounts, after reading through this thread I have seen that peopel have said it is interest, so now I am very confused.

Could someone confirm if Service Charge is interest or not and therefore if it can be claimed back?

    Thanks in advance :)

I used one of the envelopes they send out with statements and got all my charges back if that helps. Just make sure you send it recorded delivery. I sent it about a week ago and got a letter today saying the charges had been taken off.

And I would be interested about the service charge as well!
