esmerellda wrote: »Admin fees are catalogue companies wording for interest charges. These are only claimable via the CCA route to show there was no agreement enabling them to charge interest. (ie send them a request for your consumer credit agreement then negotiate a settlement of the amount you have spent less the interest you have paid - IF there is no agreement)
The fees you can simply claim back are those for late payment as they are deemed penalties. JD Williams group companies will repay these, in the main, before having to take them to court.
So check which kind you are trying to reclaim firstly.
Well this catalogue was only taken out in 08 I think, so does this mean I cant claim? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Hiya
I've got the same issue, but with la redoute? They have declined to pay the late charges back, do I now just refer to the FOS the same as credit cards?
they were regulated at the time of the charges and also have deemed that they have issued their final response?
Thanks

hi all, just wondered if anyone can help me. i sent all my list of charges to shop direct and got the usual reply about it being stated in terms and conditions, and they would not refund my admin charges, but after lurking on here ive seen some people have still been successful in their claims, my only problem is its been over 6 months since i recieved my last reply from them, so is it too late to do anything ele about my charges now ?0

MumofThree...I am the same as you, I had a letter from them back in November, after having sent them the first two letters requesting the charges back. They refused back then and I've not done anything about it, simply because we've had a whole load of other personal issues going on. Anyhow, I could really do with this money now and it's nearly £400. Anyhow know what my next step is after those two letters I previously sent, or do I have to start again from scratch?

I have a JDWilliams catalogue account, everything was going fine with it until they didn't send out statements and i couldn't pay online for some odd reason, and items were being left at the front of my house and were being stolen, and they were still trying to charge me for those!
My balance was at £183 last year so i wrote a letter to them offering £150 i never heard back from them. I rang up today to ask if it was received they said no, they are also sending me out two letters a week and charging me £12 each.
So due to the charges my balance is now £399.10. They will not accept £100-150 as a settlement fee; they will accept £300 only.
I lost my job in November and i am on income support now so i can't afford anything more.
Can i claim these administration charges back? And is there anything else i can do to get them to accept my offer? as i am in debt with other creditors not just them.
