Someon in particular or just anyone? Unless someone rants at me for suggesting this, if it's nobody in particular get someone to scribble next to yours. All you want is your data they hold on you.
I also applied online and they never had any signature of me. Scribbled something illegible (not even my name) for the sar and I had everything in the post within weeks.0 -
Lol, I was going to suggest send them two scribbles, but you got there first0

I have the list of charges, now what do I do? Is there a letter anywhere? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

I read on here a while back where people had sent out the old template letters and had received refunds for their charges.
But that was a while ago. Has anyone been successful in claiming charges back from catalogues recently? And if so, which ones?
I've had two different catalogue companies write back sarcastic letters, point blank refusing.
Any input will help. :cool:0 -
Hi
Please do a search on catelogue/ Littlewoods/ your company etc for an up to date position.
Someone I noticed recieved £700 approx but the company gave him vouchers which he returned and the company gave him cash which he wanted. You don't need to accept vouchers, which the company may be keen to push as you would be forced to spend it with them on things that are not a priority for you.
Yes, basically follow similar position as for bank charges ie SAR- list of charges- £10 cheque, template requesting refund before action etc. Adapt as necessary.
Nothing on phone, letters only and keep copies in case court action required.
Good luck. Please ignore those people who post on this forum who deliberately try to misinform you. Don't be bullied by them, don't be blamed by them. You know who I mean.

Thanks orc, Great advice. I shall continue. I have already carried out the sar and sent the letter asking for the refunds however both have written back refusing, stating that it is their final decison. Shall I simply pass it onto the FOS now? Or is it best to write again - letter before action?0
-
Write again, giving a strict timescale, advising you will refer the matter to FOS.
Adhere to the timescale, then to FOS, with copies of all correspondence and list of charges. Remember the interest. Please ignore those people who post on this forum who deliberately try to misinform you. Don't be bullied by them, don't be blamed by them. You know who I mean.

Ok will do. I will write to them again and also ask them for a full breakdown of the charges they claim are in breach of the agreement.
Can I refer to the Unfair Terms in Consumer Contracts Regulations 1999 in this instance? Like the bank/card charges, sch 2 (e)?0 -
And is there a defence I can use when they claim that the charges are fair? Such as OFT842 for banks?
I have tried to search the posts but haven't found anything relevant.0
