Sorry to hear you are feeling down Dinah.
Must be so hard having to stay in most the time but like you said once spring comes hopefully you can get out more. Definately hard to get anything done when they are demanding your attention all the time too.
I hate the bfing police on forums. I did it till Poppy was 15 months but i would never think any worse of someone for not doing it especially when they have no choice!0 -
Thanks dinah and NIM. Sorry for being ignorant. I completely understand now. I know when DD started nursery she seemed to have a constant cold for about 2 months as she would fight one cold and catch another so definitely wise to keep Grace away. Hard on you mind having to stay in all the time. Wish I had an answer for you.
I hate the bfing police too. I bf DD and it was so easy and lovely- the most natural thing in the world. Then I had DS. Bf was horrendous!!! I got an infection and would bleed every time I fed him. He couldn't latch on properly and every feed would end up with us both crying. Giving him a bottle was the best (and kindest) thing I did for him. Yes bf is better, yes bf is cheaper, yes it gives you a bond blah blah blah but it's every parent's responsibility to do what is best for their child. Whatever that may mean and they shouldn't be judged for that.

Lol at the rant Star! I do agree with all of you about the pressure to BF though. Max wouldn't latch on due to a forceps delivery so I expressed for 4 weeks. Evie latched on straight away but I still had to stop at 5 weeks because my milk never came in properly (probably due to the stress of moving country when she was 3 weeks old). I was disappointed that I had to stop with Evie as the pain was starting to lessen, but the poor child was feeding all night and was still roaring for more!Total (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Sounds like there's a lot on your plate right now Dinah, sorry there are no easy answers either.
LOL at the thoughtfully spread out magazines Cinny, I'm a bit like that too but OH doesn't get it as he thinks stuff left out (no matter how tastefully arranged) is clutter! He hates Christmas time when every day it seems like I've found yet another decoration to put out! I'm hoping that when I get home tomorrow OH will have blitzed the place in preparation for it being on show so I don't have to worry about doing it all myself. Fingers crossed!
Ebay sales are ending today, so far only 3 out of the 7 items have bids but it's equalling £56 so I'm quite happy. Just hope there's some more last minute bidding tonight!
Wedding sounds interesting Dinah! Just feel sorry for the bride and groom when its like that.
Poor NIM suffering the wrath of his Mum! I thought that Gracie's presence might have mellowed her a little, maybe not!
I'm sure the craft fair will be fine Dinah. Don't worry about what you're making. You're such a good artist could you get some little canvasses and make some simple festive paintings, you'll be able to knock a few out in no time and they'll be very unique to you!
Hope the iron tablets are working Ruby and you feel better soon! Poor thing, you've not been right for a while now!
Is there a way of finding an in-between car NIM? Not being funny, but when you say it's the only car you'd be happy putting Grace in, you only *really* need one car for that and that's the car that Dinah's got as she's the one with her most of the time. Just saying... it might be worth it to carry on looking if you can save some money.
Only 10 days to go until my holiday and I'm super giddy and excited about it! :j Really can't wait! Well done on the ebay sales Birdie!
And sounds like you have a great weekend planned Wendz!
Sitting here at work like a lemon because the one computer system I need to use isn't working. Everyone's running around like idiots because of it and they're talking about us having to go and help out on the shop floor so to speak with finding notes and stuff for patients. Looks like we may have been awarded the DLA at the middle rate. I'm guessing here, as I logged on this morning as it's payday to see my bank balance was at £1758... first reaction was 'oh crap, work paid my full salary and have forgotten I'm on maternity'... closely followed by 'well if they've done that who has taken the £700 or so that was in there?' ... turns out work paid me correctly, my stunning maternity pay of £442.88, but then DWP have also put £542.15 in my account..... which I think means we've been awarded middle rate? The claim is backdated to the 11th September so if anyone who understands DLA can tell me if that's a middle rate for that amount of time (and what middle rate is per week, and if it's paid weekly or monthly?) I'd appreciate it. Really pleased we've been awarded it without a fight, it will make things a lot easier with me not being able to work.
Really need to find the craft enthusiasm though, see if I can be making us a bit more so we can run at a nice even keel.
Would love to say all this money built up is going off the debt, but unfortunately £845.45 tomorrow is the mortgage, and then the rest will be 2 new tyres, an MOT and insurance. When NIMs wage arrives there might be a few hundred to go off the debt though. I don't know when his new payday is in the new job, but I'm just hoping it's a set day. His current job pay him 'approximately 3 working days before the end of the month', and it drives me mad, it's so hard to plan, and it's often as not 4 days, 2 days, 6 days because there was a weekend.... it makes his wage seem more of a surprise bonus than something you can rely on turning up.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Hi Dinah
I get higher rate DLA, which is £77.45 a week. It gets paid weekly, on Wednesdays for me.
If it has only been backdated to 11th September, I would say you have the higher rate, as the middle rate is £51.85 a week.
Hope that helps.
