The dress isn't far off being floor length on me actually, I am a titch!

That's good deal on the venue Ruby, hope the wedding fair is good. I got some free cake when I went but one of my friends got a free pork bap! V jealous when I heard that! Even though it is valid for weekends though, I would have thought they would have most Saturdays already booked that close...? Would you have a weekday wedding?

I love the false teeth in a jar idea! My pops is definitely getting that for xmas or bday. He has worn dentures for years and always used to leave them in a jar in the kitchen to embarrass me in my teens _pale_

Cinny, will you really manage to wait until Christmas Day? I don't know if I could manage it! So so exciting.

Oh, and crafty-wise... If you want a treats-in-a-jar thing, old fashioned sweets go down well with older men! Maybe foam teeth since he's so old he needs falsies etc?! ;) Or... taking a different route, last year I made my Dad a subway art style print just using MS Word saying 'Dad Loves' and lots of his favourite things in different fonts, sizes and directions and stuck it in a frame. He loved it and it's on display next to his desk. :)

    Who you calling old? :mad::mad::mad::mad:
This was 6 months out of date so I've changed it.

That sounds like a good wedding deal Ruby, hope you like the venue! 5 months is plenty of time to get organised, especially if you've already pretty much decided on what you want when it comes to flowers, cake, invites etc. :) Just bear in mind that a made-to-order wedding dress can take about 5 months to come into a wedding shop (unless you pay for a rush order), but if you do decide to go for something like Shrimpy's dress from a non-wedding shop/off the peg you'll be fine! :)

I don't think there's any way you'll hold out until Christmas to test Cinny! If you're late you'll want to know why and you'll want to know NOW! I came off the pill in October and didn't get my monthly 'visitor' for 65 days... I had really cute daydreams of testing on Christmas day and telling the family... I got TOTM instead, happy Christmas to me! :o OH was thrilled about getting sent out for painkillers after his dinner because I had cramps! :p A year later and I think I'd pass out from shock if I got a positive test! ;)

  • NIM -The big fella has been very helpful and so has DS but I am rather creative and he has more of a business mind. They have been doing all of the lifting and I have been supervising . We will be laying tonight and he wants everyone to lay at least one tile, bless him he thinks it’s the great wall of china.

We have some relatives coming from Belfast to stay with us in a couple of weeks so I am hoping to get the floor finished and OH wants the pipes and the side of the bath boxing in and tiled by then.

We are going to do something similar to the one in the first picture but we can’t afford to do the shower yet. We have laid the heating around the area and we will keep enough tiles to make it all blend in later. I know that it means putting down tiles that we will have to take up again later. However it will mean we can afford to get on with other jobs in the meantime. At least I will have a lovely new bathroom suite and lovely warm tiles.

Congratulations on the new job NIM. which paper were you in? I must have missed that.

Love that dress especially with the pink petticoat under it.

Can't believe Noah is one already although saying that DS is 1 next month too  where has that time gone?

Good luck with TTC Cinny. Hope it goes well for you (and quick)

Ive just joined the catwalk thing on STP.. Cinny this seems like something good for you to do because i think you were on STP before and this is fun and you get more for it than the music i think!
It keeps telling me that my rating is too different from my comments but i dont agree with it!

Just read about this on here and thought it might help some of you.. its a smart phone app which gives £25 cashback if you drive 250 miles but i think you have to be quick! I know you used to drive a long way all the time Dinah and I dont know if NIM might be using the car more now its dark and rainy (although I bet he is an all weather cyclist!) Tete I know you have to drive quite far too and I know when I used to have a car the miles rack up fairly quickly!

So...how's everyone doing?! Hope nice weekends were had all round!

It suddenly feels really autumnal here now; all misty, the leaves have changed colour and when the wind picks up they all whizz around in little clouds, nice! :) Love it when it's like this- when I'm inside feeling warm and cozy I do anyway! :)

Having some friends and colleagues round to mine on Thursday night for a shopping *thing* (a friend of a friend sells nice shabby chic style gifts and decorations) and I'm getting a little jittery that there are going to be several people coming round to check out my little flat for the first time, must thoroughly clean it and attempt to hide the majority of the clutter so they don't judge me! :o

Hey everyone :) Very quiet on here!

I told OH about that app, Tink :) Thanks! We'll have to see if he's quick enough for the £25.

Thanks Star, I'm hoping it goes quickly too. We won't be waiting until Christmas though, not a chance! I think OH just saw it as him being able to skip presents, and give his family "the news" for Christmas. Although a negative would equal some very questionable presents from the petrol station.

Good luck with the sales night, Birdie! I'm sure you'll do great :) Totally get the nerves for wanting your house to look perfect though, I'm just the same when we have people over for the first time. Rich says I go too far into "show home" territory with magazines thoughtfully spread out on the coffee table :o

I love this autumny feeling too, the shops just need to start selling toffee apples!
