All nostalgic now, the fact that we're a year from starting to reclear the debt means we're a year and 3 days since we found out we were expecting Grace, one of the clearest and happiest memories of my life.
Typing with one eye entirely shut, wish I could try to sleep this headache off but Grace is wide awake and wriggling about on her playmat.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

That's amazing Dinah and NIM! :j Hope you're extremely proud of yourselves and have a nice (but home cooked MSE of course) meal to celebrate! :T So much has happened in a year, wonder what's next in store for you guys?!
Hope Grace takes the hint and has a nap soon so you can have a sleep and feel better.

Whose blog? Mine is shoestringgourmet.blogspot.com
That's the one, thanks Dinah. It's now been bookmarked so I can drool over it any time I please
Great work with the loan :T:T That's amazing (and very inspirational)
Just a quickie from me for now, I'll catch up with everyone's antics later ... perhaps I should put the kettle on first......0 -
Well done on the car loan! Fantastic news!
Mine both went through stages of not sleeping. It's only when Evie got to 11 months that I could be guaranteed not being woken for a bottle at 4/5 in the morning. Like Wendz, I just got used to it! It does all pass do. Evie never had me up for dummy runs but I could be up 3-4 times with Max.
Got back from NY yesterday. Had a brilliant time and Rock of Ages was our favourite thing. It was fantastic. I kitted myself, OH and the kids out for the next 6 months and didn't spend as much as I had allocated. All goodTotal (Aug 19):€58,567 Now:€26,947

Outstanding Dinah, you should both be feeling very proud of yourselves today. It just goes to show what we can do when we are fully focused on a goal (the royal we I mean). Well you are very focused but it definitely rubs off on the rest of us.Total debt Feb 2012 = £54354.11 😳

Hope you feel better soon.
Jealous of your trip CMD, bet you are totally shopped out now.
How exciting about your honeymoon Wendz, would you go straight after the wedding or later on?

Good morning everyone. I'm in a really good mood this morning, I feel like I can see light at the end of the tunnel with the debt for the first time in ages, Grace only woke me 4 or 5 times for her dummy and no bottles. She's fed well (for her) this morning, and hasn't actually been sick in over 48 hours (which is fantastic as she was sick so much we got through 6 babygrows and three changes of clothes for me on Monday) so hopefully the nurse will have good results at tomorrow's weigh in. Not sure if I mentioned but on Monday she'd lost 3.5oz in a week, which is quite dramatic, so her lovely nurse is coming a second time in one week in the hope she'll be going in the right direction again. She's also on an urgent Speech & Language Therapy referral so they can look at the mechanics of her mouth, see if there is something wrong with her sucking or swallowing motions.
Lots of new blog posts , pic of Grace enjoying her solids will be going in Saturdays post.
Finally feel like I'm getting into my groove at home. Now that I have the attitude of 'the house is your job, just get on with it' I'm a lot happier, I don't feel I need to be all things to all men. We've decided on roles for the good of our family, NIM goes out to work I take care of things here, and that's fine. Of course I still hope I can find a way to bring in some real income from home over the next few months.
Going to a ball tomorrow night (can cross that off my day zero list - I think - not sure a Monsoon dress counts as a ball dress even if it is floor length) to raise money for Bliss. Really looking forward to it, the hotel where it is hosted has a Michelin stared chef, there is loads of entertainment on after the meal... it's the first time we'll have left Grace with anyone other than mum, but the lady caring for her has two children of her own (at uni now) and her husband is a GP, so I consider her to be in pretty safe hands.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Ooooh a ball, how fancy!
I'm sure you'll have a lovely time, and I think it definitely counts for your Day Zero list!
I've seen the most beautiful floor length dress in Coast and would love an excuse to wear it, sadly it's too expensive just to buy for the sake of buying it on the off-chance that I may get to wear it one day! It's probably too much for a wedding, isn't it?
Glad Grace is getting on well with her food.I hope she puts on lots of weight now!
Archers, I wear 3/4 leggings (so not too much bare leg on show!) and a t-shirt to play in.Just got them cheap from Sports Direct. I used to wear full length jogging bottoms but would get really hot so the shorter leggings have been a godsend and that's the general consensus of everyone who plays, lightweight fabric for t-shirts is better too, and get one a little long as they ride up as you reach up (mine's always flashing my back as it's a regular length one!). I don't need to wear a sports bra
but the other ladies I play with do and just wear t-shirts over the top and there's no flashing
If you've got dodgy knees/ankles make sure you get supports for them as it easy to twist too far and hurt yourself. Nearly everyone in our group wears at least one support, we look like a right broken bunch of misfits!
Glad to hear you had a great time in NYC CMD!Well done for coming home under budget too! :T

That's great news on paying off the loan Dinah and NIM, and that you've managed to clear so much money in a year!
Have been struck down with the cold bug that's going round the office, and I am proud to say I'm the only one who hasn't had a day off with it. Things with OH are going very well at the moment, he's been so nice to me since I've been ill, even bought me some gorgeous roses to cheer me up.
On another note though, he told me he has no money for the rest of the month because he made large payments off of his credit cards. While I admire his determination to get the debt down, it shouldn't be at the cost of everything else. Haven't managed to put any money in the wedding pot this month because we need spending money for Budapest. Luckily my dad has started paying me back for his car insurance that I paid for him, so hopefully that will cover it!Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20170 -
Keep strong ruby keep strong ! Hope you dont feel too bad and you get better soon! Is the wedding abroad for sure now? Was it Prague you wanted to go to?
Nothing much is happening here and the money fast is NOT working! Think it only works if you don't go out and have plenty of food in your fridge! And blog tips for making tasty meals from random cupboard things? (the store cupboards alsoon here always have fancy things we don't have!)
Also a 10% off code popped up on line yesterday for a site I've been wanting to buy over £150 worth of stuff from so I bought it but it wasn't really very good timing! Everything will work out though I'm sure and it's stuff which will be good for winter so necessary really !
Well done for paying off the loan! And I can't believe you cleared all of that in this last year! ESP when you've had such a roller coaster year and your wages have been down! Any news on the other interviews/anything else in the pipeline NIM? It's good your roles are more settled and you both agree. It's good that you can stay home and you should see it as a job (ESP with your dissertation topic!) and with your business and extra income bits I'm sure you'll make money anyway while you're at home. Any tips for that slice the pie fashion thing? I re logged on but it was just music..
Hopefully OH and I have got those ten poun vouchers for trains from the email! Can't check till tonight but fingers crossed it works! I spend so much on trains these vouchers really make a difference!
Very excited for you cinny too! Joining that healthcare plan sounds like a good idea now you're really trying! Fingers crossed for you!
Dinah what's the next challgnge? The credit cards or one specific one?
