Tink - If you go to allrecipes.com, I think you can put in a list of ingredients that you have and it will search recipes that match what you have.

As for the wedding, I have no idea! Think we're going to get Christmas out of the way and then see what the lay of the land is. OH thinks we'll end up inviting 40 people when really it's more like 26 (and then they might not all come...) so really it's not too bad money wise.

Going to pop along to Boots tonight as it's the first of their Christmas points events so might end up picking up a few little gifts (and maybe a treat or 2 for myself!). I do have £96.02 on my advantage card but don't really want to spend it.
    Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £

Glad to hear you are feeling positive Dinah.

Great news that Grace hasn't been throwing up, fingers crossed for a gain weight wise.

I think thats a good attitude to have that the house is your role. I haven't really ever resented doing housework while i was off but find it a little hard now that i'm working 4 days a week and still do most of it but my OH has been working lots up until recently.

Archers - we are planning on going on honeymoo about 3 days after the wedding. Glad you are feeling better.

CMD - glad you had an amazing time and well done on all the bargain clothes and coming in under budget.

Ruby - i think sometimes men dont think if they think they are doing something good. Forget they need money to live off etc.

Ooooh a ball, how fancy! :D I'm sure you'll have a lovely time, and I think it definitely counts for your Day Zero list! :) I've seen the most beautiful floor length dress in Coast and would love an excuse to wear it, sadly it's too expensive just to buy for the sake of buying it on the off-chance that I may get to wear it one day! It's probably too much for a wedding, isn't it? :o
definitely don't think it's too much for a wedding - I'd wear that with sandals down the town for coffee! If you like it I'd get it - but check ebay first - they usually have all the coast and monsoon dresses on there new with tags for half the price of the shops.

Any tips for that slice the pie fashion thing? I re logged on but it was just music..

Dinah what's the next challgnge? The credit cards or one specific one?

The fashion bit is apparently only a trial at the moment for invited users, they hope to roll it out to all users with a certain ranking before Christmas though, so worth doing a few music reviews a day to get your ranking up? I love the fashion bit. I know it's not much cash but I made $8 yesterday just for looking at a few tops.

We only have one credit card, so that's the plan - throw everything in that direction once we've paid our car insurance for the year.

I have the same issue, I have about £55 of points but for some reason don't want to spend them. Only thing I've used them on is to get Grace some preemie baby grows on a hospital stay in Newcastle, and a meal deal on the same trip.

Good news on Grace's weigh in this morning - 6.5oz in 4 days :D

Me and a friend lusted after this one Coast dress for about a year and it never went in the sale, they just stopped selling it. Then a couple of years later I was looking on ebay for a dress to wear to a wedding and low and behold, someone was selling the same dress, in my size, brand new with tags. Managed to get it for £15 when it was originally about £100!

Glad to hear Grace is putting on weight, clearly the solids are doing the trick!

Amazing bargain Ruby! :T I've never found a great deal like that on ebay. :o Not that I can afford that dress at even half the price right now. :o

Speaking of ebay, I got an e-mail saying it's zero insertion fees this weekend so my job for tonight is digging out things to stick on there tomorrow afternoon whilst OH is at rugby. Must do it! :o

Great news that Grace's weight has gone up, solids must be working for you little lady! :T
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

surely using boots points makes sense though as effectively it is savings at 0%? ok so for such a small amount it wont make much difference but better than using a CC or something where you will end up paying interest?

Well done on Grace's weight gain that's fab!

I think thats a pricy dress for such a statement piece because you can probably only wear it a few times...

ps Dinah I saw a pic of you at a wedding recently on fb in the creamy dress and I forgot to say.. you look tiny! As if you've recently had a baby! you looked great!

  • Yay I got these for £34 inc P&P :D Had to link to the main KG site because they disappeared from the Shoeaholics one so looks like I got the very last pair! Hope they're not too scuffed! (These prob aren't very exciting to anyone else but I love them and will get a lot of wear from them if they fit OK!)

    Now to catch up...

Going to a ball tomorrow night ... Really looking forward to it, the hotel where it is hosted has a Michelin stared chef...

Was this 'ball' the burlesque night NIM referred to on FB?! Hehe, oops - bet it was fun anyway though! Was it at Rockliffe by any chance? What did you make of the food? I wasn't that impressed, found it all a bit too rich :o Maybe I have pauper tastes!!

Anyway, that is FANTASTIC about how much you've paid off in a year, blimey! What you have left is about what I'm hoping to save by next Sept and it seems such a small amount in relation to you, and a massive amount to me! (In this vein I've just done my first few STP reviews! The site is quite critical of you isn't it, you really have to make sure you include key words in your review! I imagine it'll get easier and quicker the more I do... hoping to qualify for the fashion element when it's rolled out!)

Also fab about Grace's weight, spotted her on the blog this morning and she looks so different without her tube :)

Ruby that's annoying about OH and his over-zealous debt-busting! Maybe next month he could pay off the minimum then challenge himself to save as much of his wages as possible til next payday and throw whatever he has at the card? Rather than paying off and borrowing again when he runs out!

Birdie, that's a lovely dress and I don't think it's OTT for a wedding but the price is a bit!! You're better off spending that kind of money on a winter coat or boots that you'll get much more wear out of, even tho it's more boring!

Tink makes a brilliant point about the Boots points being at 0%, never thought of it like that!

Hoping to get some ebaying done this weekend if only to clear some of this clutter! Is it too unreasonable to say that I need immediate paypal payment in order to post items before I go on my hols?

Speaking of which, glad you had a fab time in NYC CMD!! Tell me all! And how warm/cold was it, what clothes should I take???

Sorry for the mammoth post, this is what happens when you take a week out of normal routine. I've had a fab time in a primary school :) will update my own diary later with more details (if you're interested!)
