Shame about the craft fair Beccie
There's a new 'shop' in town which is actually a kind of market hall for crafty stalls and I noticed when I was walking through the other day that they have some empty tables for non-regular sellers for £10 a day. Maybe I should think extra hard about making enough to sell and take the plunge?!
As for posting pictures, you'll have to upload them onto a photo hosting site, then insert the url into the 'insert image' box (or just link to an album for us to nosey at!).
The Papercraft fair was pretty good, MIL gave me some money to spend bless her so I got some more stuff to play with and some good ideas.I also got her to spend £200 in White Stuff afterwards when we went shopping... and she still has to get a proper winter coat so we need to go shopping again!
Hope Grace enjoyed her first 'real' food!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
For £10 I think it's defnitely worth a go Birdie! The one I did on Saturday was £37, which meant my profit was a lot less.
Phone isn't playing with uploading the pictures so will have to try when I get home.Debt at LBM Apr 2010 £28,767 Debt free as of Nov 2013 :j0 -
£37 is a lot! Maybe I should get into the hosting craft fairs business, sounds like there's money to be made from table rental!
Have you thought any more about what you're going to make and sell Dinah?!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Wow you are such crafty lot! can't wait to see your wares!
Dinah there was a crafting for christmas thread on here last year where loads of people were making for fairs etc and they had lots of good ideas for cheap-y bits to sell (i.e. snowman soup and elizabeth shaw mint chocolates with christmas pics and loops stuck on to make christmas tree decs) and they also had people posting where the materials are on offer.. perhaps look out for it again this year?
Boring old monday and a massively spendy weekend for me! Going to try and money fast for a week or so but I've got a lot of big weekends planned so it's not looking likely! Fun though!
Happy belated birthday NIM! I hope you had a good one and enjoyed your ice cream! Any knickerbocker glories/banana splits made with your ice cream goodies?0 -
Morning,
I could do with moneyfasting too Tink. Running out very quick this month! Just ordered myself some new boots as they were on sale at h and m for £15 then found a £5 off code! Hopefully they will be ok. All my boots have fallen apart so need some new ones desperately!
We had OH's mums wedding this weekend. He managed to get it off eventually so think she was happy. Wedding went well. Best part was when Poppy kept saying ut oh when they were doing their vows :rotfl:.
I have bought a couple of crafty bits on a facebook group im in for christmas. Some reindeer food (little bag with glitter in) and a christmas star for the tree. Potential ideas for the fair.0 -
Aww bless little Poppy! During my friend's wedding her 2 year old niece kept asking 'Where's Iggle Piggle?', you've got to love kids for saying the oddest things at the most inappropriate times!
Glad your OH managed to get the time off and you had a nice day.
I'm feeling quite sorry for myself this morning as I fell over playing badminton yesterday and hurt my knee, it's all swollen and bruised and I've had to cancel my singles game today.Woe is me!
I need a money fast too! Got £5 to last me until the 20th... this is going to be tough! Luckily I've got no plans until then (so far!) but I hate not having any money! My Dad's asked me to make a leaflet for his company and will pay me so that might see me through. Oooh actually I need help thinking of a snappy pun for it; he's selling de-icing salt, screen wash and snow shovels to other little businesses near his unit this winter and I want something like 'Don't get left in the cold'/'Don't let standards slip this winter' etc on the leaflet but can't think of the best line that hasn't already been used 100 times before!

Hi Everyone!
Tried my best to catch up but I don't have much time so just read the last few pages  Hope everyone's okay!
Love you helping your MIL to spend some money, Birdie! Sounds like something I'd do. Love all the crafty things on your blog too, btw! You should really take the plunge with the craft stall, I think you'd do really well with it.
How was Grace's first solid meal? Interesting about the Mail article, you'll have to let us know when it's out! Your heathcare scheme does sound pretty good though, you get money back for referrals, right? Because I want something like that setting up for me soon.
And to answer Tete's question from aaaaages ago, we are officially trying for our first little monster nowI'm kind of setting myself up for a long wait though, as I just have this niggling feeling it won't be easy for us. We've also agreed we're not going to test until Christmas morning. Which will be my second or first potential missed period if things do go to plan. But we've also agreed if things aren't taking naturally by next October we're going to look into fostering, or potentially adoption. Although both of those seem to scare OH due to watching too many horror movies.. But the need of homes for boys aged 3-7 around us is mahoosive. And I think we'd give a lovely home to a little boy
Our Big Bump Fund is totally empty now, as OH's work have started being devils with paying him so we've had to use it for bills etc. Harumph! We'll get back on top of it though. Positivity is key! But we're starting from £0 as of Friday.
Hope the shoes are what you're after, Wendz! Sounds like a good buy. I've fallen lucky this year, my Mum has a big selection of boots she buys and wears veeery rarely so she had a clear out, and I've adopted a pair of heeled clarks boots and some slouchy ugg-like hushpuppies
Sorry I don't have time to reply to everyone. I need an 8th day of the week!(mainly to sleep)

Ahhh that's lovely and very exciting Cinny! :T Hope Santa brings you a baby for Christmas!
Nice that you have the back-up plans too, I'm scared of the whole adoption process, it looks way too hard!
I've got the same healthcare plan as Dinah and they are good, if you're trying for a baby now you might want to get a plan sorted ASAP as you get a payout on the birth of a child but have to have had the plan for a year to qualify for it (under normal circumstances but I remember they were super good and generous when Grace came along!)Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. Glad the wedding went well Wendz.
Sorry to hear about your general lower extremities being injured Birdie, hope you feel less bruised tomorrow.
Solids are okay, I'm not sure the balance of in mouth vs all over room is in the mouth's favour, but it's a start.
Paper is on Sunday, we were just contacted by Medicash and asked if we'd do an interview. And yes Cinny, if I refer someone we both get a £10 love to shop voucher after 30 days membership. As Birdie says, get one sooner rather than later to get the baby payout.
If you're 3 weeks late you'll never hold off to test until Christmas Cinny - it's just too exciting! Fostering sounds like a nice plan, a good thing to do a few years down the line when your baby is a bit older too. I do always find it odd that you have to show you're not trying for a baby and are choosing adoption over a natural child in order to start the adoption process.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008
