Happy belated birthday NIM, hope you enjoyed Dara, I love his standup (well, from the tv!) so I'm sure you will have had a great time.

How rubbish that you're still ill Archers! Have you had problems with your tonsils before? Do they still like to remove them if they're troublesome? I'm sure when we were younger they used to whip them out at the drop of a hat! I hope you get to go home, being alone and poorly is the worst.

    Happy belated birthday NIM!

Just popping in quickly to tell you that things with the OH are slightly better. Basically told him that I was rather depressed at leaving everything behind to move here and slot into his established life here. That he wasn't really being as supportive about this as he could be and that the online stalking stuff was out of order.

He admitted he knew it was wrong of him but he knew something was wrong and just wanted to see what was happening, rather than confronting me because he knows I don't like confrontation really. He also admitted that he kind of forgot about what it felt like to move to a new place and not know anybody.

We chatted about how because of all this I wasn't sure how I felt about him any more and we agreed to take things slow and just see how it goes.

To be honest I feel a lot more positive today about everything and confident that whatever happens it's for the best.

Will try and have a proper read through and catch up on everything later on, but thanks everyone for just being there for me to rant at. Oh and Beccie, if you want to meet for a drink some time, I'm perfectly happy to!

Awww sorry you're still suffering Archers :( OH has had his tonsils out as he got tonsillitis all the time as a kid... now he gets laryngitis so it's not really solved anything! ;)

Hope Dara was good last night! Was there special Dinah cake involved throughout the day at all? :)

Glad to hear that you're feeling better about things Ruby, it's good that you talked and he's admitted to being in the wrong, shows that he wants to make things work! :) We're all here for you if you need any more support. :)

Has anyone got nice weekend plans? I'm off to a Papercraft fair with MIL tomorrow then taking her shopping for a winter coat since FIL was really tight the other day and told her to 'Just get a cheap fleece and wear it under your old jacket'... Not impressed with his tightness (they're not struggling for money and he's just spent loads on 'stuff' for himself) so I'll be taking her to Joules for a proper warm coat and some trousers, tops and a couple of jumpers to go with it! ;) Would like him argue with me that I'm making her spend too much of her own money, he won't win! :p

Ah that's brilliant news Ruby sounds like a bit of crossed wires and lack of communication - hope it all works out.

Just saw this on my favourite blog and thought you girls would like it - I'm gonna make one for myself!!

  • I need a hoodie first - it's fab though isn't it??

Dinah, just a word about your blog - you can turn off the captcha thingy. I did it and wasn't inundated with spam - or you can change your settings so that you approve all comments before they're published. It's just I know a lot of people are put off commenting on blogs when they have to do that. The sweet and sour chicken looks gorgeous, might make it this weekend as I have most of the ingredients in already :)

Happy belated birthday NIM! Did you enjoy Dara? What did Grace get you?

Hows Grace today Dinah? Is she started on solids yet? Can't believe she's 6 months, that has gone so fast! Do preemies have to wait longer to wean etc as they wouldn't be as developed as a full term 6 month old?
Dara was brilliant, we had a good night, although it was a bit miserable not being home until after midnight. Grace got him a box of ice cream, two big tubs, some waffle cones, flakes, jelly tots, wafers, butterscotch and chocolate sauce etc. That girl has a sweet tooth.

Starting solids today!!! She's so not bothered about milk, we're really struggling to get 300ml into her a day, apparently this can be a sign of wanting solids, so NIM is picking up baby rice on the way home. Preemies tend to wean between 5-8 months, where most babies are more 4-7 months. I was surprised, as I thought it was more based on size than anything, but apparently it's all down to her brain being ready.

That's a bit bad of him. Hope you get her kitted out.

No cake yesterday, as NIM wasn't home long enough to have one. So cake is coming today - will post a pic on the blog later (yes, shameless attempt to get people over there, go on, make my day somebody, be a new follower)

Thanks, I'll try to get that turned off over the weekend.

Bit of an odd morning, just been interviewed by the Mail on Sunday about using healthcare cashback plans, and they're sending a photographer around tomorrow to take a pic of us all to go in the paper. I agreed to do it because the healthcare company have treated us so well, but also because they told me they'd make a donation to a charity of our choice, no one has mentioned it since though, so I will need to chase that up if no one does, as I would really like to raise a bit more for the unit.

Wow, how cool about being in the paper! :T How did that come about?

Good stuff about Grace starting on solids today too, hope it goes well and she enjoys her baby rice! :) From that pic on FB last night looks like she's ready to start drinking wine too! ;)

Love the box of ice cream goodies for NIM, I was thinking about doing like that for Christmas presents!

    Morning everyone :)

Craft fair was a bit of a let down - £18 after stall cost and materials :( That's the problem with them though, they can be very hit and miss. I'm booked in to do a Xmas market on the 15th Dec (2 days after I get back from my month in Africa ) but other than that I may leave them for this year. Will give me more time to concentrate on Etsy anyway.

I promised pictures - how do I post them?!

How was the Papercraft fair, Birdie?

Glad that Dara was good, Dinah and NIM. And sounds like Grace got you some lovely presents. Haven't had jelly tots in years!

How is Grace getting on with the starting solids? She's growing up so fast!

Ruby - glad that the chat with OH went well. Just let me know when for a drink! I work Tuesday and Wednesday nights but other than that I'm pretty flexible :)
