Sorry that that's all come out as one big lump of text, whenever I submit the post it loses my paragraphs :(

Oh Tete, that must have come of a bit of a shock. Presumably you don't get much of a say in it? An hour a day is a lot to add to your commute as well, I guess it depends what the saving on petrol will amount to? The new office does sound lovely though and at least you don't have to share with anyone annoying. You're right to focus on the positives, and windows are a big positive! :)

No, no say - basically if we don't want to move we get put on the 'at risk' register for 6 months and if we haven't been redeployed at the end of that time we'd be made redundant. I'm a member of the union so I may get their advice but I've a feeling there's nothing much that can be done :( But again, a change is as good as a rest and even though I'll be doing the same work it'll be a breath of fresh air not to be coming on to this office every day. And the commute may spur me on to actually get out...

Sorry to hear about the office move Tete, must have come as a bit of a shock! Maybe you can think about the pros and cons this weekend and decide what's best for you. I would hate to commute but I know plenty of people who think nothing of driving an hour each way to work, I suppose it's a case of different strokes for different folks! :) Check out the job pages/sites this weekend and see if there's anything else close by that suits you too. :)

How did the meeting with the social worker go Beccie? :)

So exciting about Gracie going home! :j Hope her first night was a good one, and that Dinah and NIM got some sleep! :p

It went well thanks Birdie :) Sent OH to Tesco so he wasn't under my feet and she was really nice, she said as the reference I'd written was so detailed that there wasn't a lot else to ask, it was more of a case of checking I was a real person and that they hadn't written the reference themselves. Think we talked about crochet and travelling more than anything else :o

Tete - sorry to hear about the office move, it's a bit of a shock when stuff like that happens. Think I would start work at the new site to begin with in case it worked out better than you thought. If it doesn't then you could start looking elsewhere but at least you won't have placed yourself on the at risk register.

Sorry to hear about the office move Tete, not the worst thing to happen but definately worth thinking about. My travel takes takes about 45 mins to get to work but i am on a train reading my kindle for most of that so not so bad. Definatly worth a think about what you want to do. Maybe it is a sign you should move on.

Hope Grace had a good first night at home.

WE have been swimming this morning, baby pool was full when we got there so had to go in freezing big pool for 10 mins until we could go in, was fun though.

Hope Gracie's first weekend at home was good! Saw the picture of her smiling on FB, she's so darn cute! Your Mum looks pleased as punch with her too! :D

We bought a car on Saturday! :) Well, not new, 4 years old but that's a spring chicken compared to my 10 year old Punto! ;) It's a grey Peugeot 307 and I'm just waiting for the call to say when we can collect it this week, OH loves it so I'll be making him drive me everywhere for a change! Need to sort out the insurance for it, hoping the premium won't jump up too much! At least it's cheaper to tax. :)

Saturday was also the day of the tight friends' BBQ, which turned into an indoor 'drinks and nibbles' thing. It wasn't very good as we suspected, we all brought something to eat since it had been bought anyway and they only put out the food and drink that we'd provided. Wonder if they were just holding back their own stuff or if they just hadn't bothered catering?! Oh well, that's their one party of the year over and done with!

We went to see The Amazing Spiderman last night and it was really good! Glad OH dragged me out to see it! :)

Second that - hope you've been having a lovely weekend with Grace :)

Yay to a new car Birdie :j Hope the insurance works out ok.

I can report back now after 1 week on the Harcombe diet - 10lbs lost :D:D:D

I even cheated on Saturday night and may have drank a [STRIKE]glass[/STRIKE] a bottle of wine round at my friends. The hangover yesterday paid me back though!

I was thinking the same :) Just think of finally having a window-ful office! I'd hate that commute though, no thanks! But I'm used to work being a 5 minute walk away.

How was everybody's weekend? Mine was a bit stressful, but I feel better for it. Can 100% put the Brother-Saga behind me now after he showed his true colours on Saturday, and it clicked I've been expecting too much of him and thinking he was the loving caring Brother who'd just had the wool pulled over his eyes by a crazy person. So until my Mum's 50th when I have to spend time with them I can happily have nought to do with them, and not feel bad for not seeing my Brother

OH starts his new job in 15 minutes! Spent yesterday making him look respectable again after a month and a half off work. Beards been trimmed (still upset about that..) hair's cut, clothes were ironed and a new pot of hair gel was opened! :D Just hope he's not nervous.

Saw lots of Gracie photo updates on Facebook over the weekend, she's such a button of a thing!!

Congrats on the car, Birdie! Hope the insurance isn't too much more for it :) I really want to see Mr Spiderman, mainly because I love anything with Emma Stone in it :D

ETA: Crikey on the weight loss, Beccie! Hope the rest of the plan goes well for you :)

I love Emma Stone too :) I didn't even twig it had her in it (the blond hair and fringe fooled me and I hadn't looked at the posters too closely!) so I was excited when she popped up on screen! Watched a new TV series over the weekend called Suburgatory (think it starts on TV soon) and the girl who stars in it is Emma Stone's double, a bit freaky! It also stars Elton from Clueless, that made me happy! :)

Hope your OH's first day goes well! :) Did you send him off with a special first day lunch?! Glad that the brother stuff is settled in your mind. It's a shame but sadly you can't pick your family and however much you love them they can't always live up to what you expect of them. :o

    That's a very impressive loss Beccie! :T
