I spoke too soon - my yoga/birthing course has just been cancelled as the lady is suffering with SPD and is going to the hospital tomorrow to see about being induced next week - so wouldn't be able to teach most of the classes. Oh well, back to square one.

Oh god, that poor woman. How far on is she? I can't focus here atm. The lady got in touch and the role sounds PERFECT...salary would at best be a lateral transfer but possibly a paycut depending on fuel costs (need to look at super economical cars to in any way make it work)

Anyone here know how the different fuels measure up on cost and mpg/lp100km (prefer this measure as its easier to work out costs)

*Whoosh* There goes NIM's car question flying over my head :p

Shame about the yoga lady, what's SPD stand for again, heard pregnant women talking about it but not sure what it is? Want to say it's Sore Pelvic Doodah but that doesn't sound right...
Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!

Right area, can't remember exactly what its called but basically too much movement in the part of the pelvis that separates causing lots of owies.

It's pelvic something, a lady at my work had it and was on crutches for about 3 months. Basically it's when all the muscles get overly loose and everything separates a bit too much I think so it's very painful to move in any way, not just load bearing things.

The lady is due mid March, so she must be about 35 weeks now, was probably a bit of a push on her part to try teaching right up until her due date!

Oooh a boring and geeky numbers question - sounds like one for the man cave.

Ooohh more baby talk! I've just been looking after a 3 week old while his mum was writing an essay for uni. I've always been scared of babies but this made me realise it's not that scary really. Actually I'm really broody now.

As far as the fuel/mileage question NIM, my dad talked me through it when I was looking at cars but I was just inputting numbers, I don't remember the actual formulas! All i remember is when you take into account insurance costs and the difference in fuel, it worked out the same price over a year for the same model of car.

im a numbers geek!! but i dont understand what you want to know! All I know is that OH's 1.7 diesel was about 10.7p/mile which i think is about 55mpg and my 1.6 petrol was never less than 15p/mile, about 40mpg no matter how hard I tried! (this is up to date till september, haven't bought fuel since then and dont know how the prices have changed)

Ruby if you do go down the CC route, I think Tesco give you 0% on purchases for 16 months or something and you get clubcard points too. I dont think credit cards are evil as long as you understand your financial position and you are disciplined. Would you have any savings left if you used them all for your up coming car purchases? Also though, i second pass plus being a waste of time and cash. I know your dad is insistent but why? it was rubbish for me and I was much better taking myself out at a quiet time of day on the motorway etc and then building up to busier times.

Is anyone else desperate for payday? Dont get paid until next week and it's ages away! not sure if the 28/29th though because of the leap year...!
