All is good with me. I went for a job interview last week and got it so am delighted. As Dinah and NIM will know, jobs are few and far between in Ireland at the moment so I was delighted to secure one. Evie will be 6 months when I go back, and in an ideal world I would wait until she was 1 year, but it is only 18 hours a week. OH will mind them on a Friday and then it looks like the rest of the time would be evening work, so I won't really be away from them at all, and when I am OH will be minding them. Also, I get 2 months off every summer and although this is unpaid, I can claim jobseekers during that time, so theoretically when they are in school I will have every summer off with them, if I stay in the job. Am chuffed

Congratulations on the job, sounds great working around the children as well. Evening work is great as they will be in bed and i am sure they will love their day with their Dad.

Only 4 weeks till i go back to work now, doing a keep in touch day this thurs and the mon after.

Had my grandmas funeral yesterday, it was lovely but I found the whole experience quite sad. The coffin was so little as she was so tiny in the end. But she got a good send off, and we've all been talking about her loads.

Saw my local friends today to say goodbye, went on a loooong dog walk in the snow. Haven't yet told my mum that her tiny pride and joy new car was used to transport 4 people and 3 rather damp dogs around the countryside!
Have so much still to sort out before I leave but don't know where to start arrghh, think I need to write a list.

Glad your Grandma had a good do Archers, it's nice to give loved ones a good send off and get together to remember the good times and funny stories that everyone has

Valentine's card selling has gone OK, although I should have counted for the fact that I work with a lot of very unromantic miserable men who refuse to buy Valentine's cards for their wives. Funnily though I've sold 4 cards to the same man! He claims they're for his kids but we all know he's got at least one 'Bit on the side'! I made some birthday cards on Saturday (too cold to go out!) so I'm going to bring them in to sell now I've got my name out there as The Card Girl! Oh and OH has also paid me to make my own Valentine's and anniversary cards... who says romance is dead?! :rotfl:

That's pretty good going, Birdie - are you going to trademark The Card Girl?! Your OH is a cheeky monkey - he's very lucky you're taking him away to Edinburgh! But it looks like you've almost nailed the 12lb challenge (bravo!) so you definitely deserve a treat too

I can't remember if I've posted, but I've been reading - very chuffed to hear that you're expecting a little girl, Dinah & NIM, you're going to be fab parents!

I'm so sorry to hear all the tough times some of you have been going through - thinking of you a lot, Tete especially - glad you've managed to talk things through with friends, hope it helps a little.

I've been super busy since I got back from India (which was amazing btw ) as we've only got 12 weeks until the wedding! Am starting to regret not being a bit more bridezilla for the last 6 months...the basics are in place - just got to dress the bridesmaids, choose all the music/readings for ceremony plus pretty things up which should be fun.

We booked our honeymoon yesterday - just over 2 weeks in Cuba - SO exciting!

When are you off on your travels, Archers?

Too much news to comment on, but congrats to Shrimpy & CMD on job news - sweet deal CMD, you deserve it!

Oh and I got reimbursed for the hotel and train tickets from OH, he used his Burn Money to pay for them! Apparently I still owe him a night away but when he reckons I can 'properly' afford it as this weekend would have left me *very* skint... I think OH just wants another weekend away!

Birdie, your new sig made me laugh! The cards sound fab, sounds like your one colleague will keep you in business single handed! *shudder* Only had a few bits on eBay, sold a text book for £12 though which I pilfered from my ex-job. Not as though it would've been any use leaving it there so may as we recycle it I thought! My ex-boss felt so bad when we closed he practically forced the entire stationery cupboard contents onto me!

And lovely of your OH to pay for Edinburgh!

Glad to hear you had an amazing time in India Poddle, any pics? I'm sure you have plenty of time to upload them, its not like you're planning a wedding or anything Hope it isn't too stressful!

Birdie - glad the card sales are doing well and now people know you do them they might ask you in future. LOL though as your OH paying you to make your own card though.

Poddle - glad you had an amazing time in India, so exciting the wedding is so soon! Cuba sounds brilliant too. My mum and dad stayed at the Sandals there and the pics look brilliant.

My Mum went and had a look at the wedding venue on sat and she really liked it too so her and my dad are being very generous and going to put the deposit down for us this week,yay!
