How'd it go at the hospital? :)

If anyone is thinking of starting up a business then please start a delivery company that delivers outside of working hours! OH and I both missed deliveries yesterday because they turned up at 2pm, surprise surprise we were out at work, we couldn't contact the couriers and they refused to leave the parcels with a neighbour! How annoying!! Grrr. Why don't these companies do a deal with the Post Office where they can leave parcels at their sorting office and charge folks a couple of quid holding fee when they collect?! *rant over*

OH was wondering how I spend so long doing nothing online the other day so clicked on the history tab and was amazed at all the blogs I read! :o What can I say, I'm nosey! ;)

Haha! My OH is just the same with me, doesn't get how I can be online so much :o it's Tumblrs fault.

Hope your blood pressure is okay, Dinah! Glad all the money stuff has kind of evened out, how did the budget plan go?

Hope everyone had a lovely Valentines day! We didn't do anything amazingly unique. Set the kitchen up for a 'romantic' meal of 99p mac and cheese, then watched wrestling.. with candles.

Pain with the courier, Birdie! We have a really lovely lady who does the courier,er,ing? in this village. She knows where I work so if I'm not in she pops to the office, does the same for the girl I share shifts with too.

D is fine, BP came way down so its good. Shes in York with her mum today. I'm not jealous at all...honest ;)

We refuse to do Valentines day on grounds we don't need hallmark to tell us to do something we do the rest of the year anyway.

    Everyone else doing ok?

Oh jee, you're one of those?

That's like not celebrating your birthday because you don't need hallmark to tell you you're still alive, because you're still alive every day.

    :rotfl:

I was so tempted to put as my FB status 'Insert generic smug married remark about how much I love my soulmate here' but I thought that some of my single friends wouldn't get it and I didn't want to annoy anyone! :p We don't go OTT for V-day but we do mark it with a card (and in OH's a gift even though we'd agreed no pressies :o) OH was at work as usual so I spent the night painting some little canvases I'd bought, I saw this amazing painting on etsy but there's no way I can afford to pay $400 for it so thought I'd have a go at doing something similar on a smaller scale... it didn't go too well! Turns out I still can't paint, who'd'a thunk it?! :rotfl: It looks OK if you stand back and squint... :p

Oh and I got really annoyed at the miseries at work who refused to buy a card from me grumbling about Hallmark making up holidays to get your money... they're not giving Hallmark money, they're giving me money! And surely I deserve it?! :p

Glad Dinah is doing ok. Have a fun day in York.

We are having a sainsburys meal for two tonight as OH was working last night. I am not overly fussed on valentines day but is nice to do something.

Birdie - that is so annoying about the deliveries, i still seem to miss loads even though i am not at work as i always seem to pop out when they deliver.

That painting is gorgeous , shame you couldn't recreate lol.

So i think its about time we brought back dotd http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2012/01/31/article-2094172-11864786000005DC-166_964x659.jpg

I think Birdie already agrees its brilliant. Seriously though I know i have ages but no idea what kind of dress i want except i dont want a meringue!

Ahhh those dresses are tropi-tastic! :rotfl: Loved watching them trying to walk in them, and getting into the limo! :rotfl:

Are you going dress shopping soon? My advice would be to try every style, even the meringues so you can rule what what definitely doesn't work and what does :) I always fancied something with a big skirt but once I tried them on and realised how hot and heavy they were I changed my mind! :o

I think i will go in the summer to start looking. That was my plan to try on lots of different styles as lots of people have said what they thought would suit them didn't and they ended up with something totally different.

Glad you're ok Dinah, hope you enjoy York, such a lovely city isn't it?

OH and I went out for a pub meal last night but only because it was free :o One of his friends runs it and offered us a free meal in exchange for OH helping him out a while back. Normally we do cards but nothing else really. OH said to me yesterday 'I was going to get you some flowers but they were £25 and I thought you'd go mad!' - I've ruined it for myself!

How amazing were the pineapple and the palm tree! Seriously!

Difference being I'm one of those who backs it up, lots of those types don't. Why spend £20 quid on posh chocs for one day when I know a £1 bag of mini eggs with bring at least as much glee into my girls life?

If I'd seen them Birdie I might have grabbed one for another time. I just don't agree with commercialising romance.
