I've never really been a fan of savoury filled pancakes, I only ever had sugar on them growing up (and looooooads of it!). Now I'm a little braver and have a little drizzle of golden syrup. :) OH is a fan of putting anything chocolatey inside a pancake- Nutella, a Twix, some Rolos... a Magnum! Sometimes he goes a little too far even for my sweet tooth! ;)

Just done my car insurance renewal after nearly dying when I saw Sainsbury's quote of £1000!!!! Managed to half my current insurance, was going to get cashback through Quidco but the cheeky so-and-so's charge more to go through Quidco than to go via Confused.com- which will give me 1000 Nectar points so can't complain! Also when I was looking at our accounts to see how much we're paying right now I've noticed that our mortgage has gone down from £560 to £428! Awesome! :D We should be loaded in March! :j

  • Ooh kerching Birdie! That's great news. Can't wait to see photos of your pancake run!

So glad you enjoyed Snowpatrol Dinah, bet they were really good :j

Totally shattered so will look at everyone else's news tomorrow. Was my last day at work today and clearing my desk and mentally going through everything has exhausted me. Got a lovely card and cake so will remember them fondly!

Great money news there Birdie! Some of my insurance quotes were £1400+, absolutely insane! Driving is so darn expensive and I don't even enjoy it!

Hope your last day went well Archers, always good to get cake! When do you start your new job?

Oooh - and well done on clearing the overdraft! Is that news or have I just not spotted it in your sig before? Mine is a little lower than my sig but won't update til payday just in case - can't wait to see it gone!

I am a fan of lemon and sugar on pancakes myself.

That is fab about the insurance and the mortgage Birdie!

Archers- that is lovely you got a cake and card.

I am feeling a bit sorry for myself today, think i have a cold coming. Couldn't sleep last night and my head feels all funny. Off to baby group in a bit so hopefully will entertain Poppy.
  • Hope you feel better soon Wendz :(

I start at the very end of May Shrimpy, scary stuff! Thanks, it got cleared with my last pay packet - its only a 0% student one but they start charging for a portion of it in September so I'm glad it's cleared for now. You've got to kid yourself that you LOVE driving and it's worth every penny! Think of waiting at the bus stop in snow, and train delays, and hoping people will offer you a lift to places... driving is fun!

Hmmm 'fun' might be pushing it! I think of driving as a necessary (and too expensive) evil! Maybe once we get a new car that is actually nice to drive I may change my mind! :)

How the cold today Wendz? OH's 'dying' right now and has been waking himself up snoring these past 2 nights, it's really funny bless him!

How's everyone else today? Can't focus on work today (no reason, just feeling a bit floopy) so need someone to talk to as a distraction!

Oh and I need Tete, you there?! Got a pressie for you if you want it :)

For some reason I haven't been getting alerts to this thread, although I see I haven't missed much :D Had a very productive day yesterday, got 23 lots listed on ebay, mostly bundles so over 60 items in total - would love them all to sell and give us that extra bit of space (and if they did all sell about £160 too). Also sold a maternity bundle last night, I've listed it at £9.99 twice and got no bidders, this time I started it at £6 and 4 bidders got in a war and it went for £21. Maybe it's worth starting things at less money? I just don't like the risk that something sells for 99p if only one person sees it, when you know the right bidder would pay a starting price of a tenner.

Looks like we're going to Liverpool tomorrow. NIM has the day off, to we'll set off after lunch, go pick up the buggy, then go stay the night with his auntie before coming back on Saturday.

Still have a stiff hip and a bit of numbness in an elbow and hand, so going to go to the doctors on Monday or Tuesday when I have the car. No referral on granddad to the hospital yet, but he has had a better few days this week with less confusion and no falling over. Mum says he did the hoovering the other day to be helpful and she was so nervous it would cause him to fall down and get dizzy again she was so tense she could have hovered above the chair, but he did it and seemed pleased that he did. Small steps.

Hows the diet going Birdie? Also, wrote a huge long post to you in notepad yesterday and forgot to post it:

Birdie, as regards your baby/wedding conundrum on the TTC thread, my suggestion would be to take someone with you ie your mum or a friend. They can stay with the baby while you're at the wedding and you can pop up to the room to give feeds when needed. A lot of hotels have family rooms with 2 beds in, but it might be that you need two rooms. There is also the option of expressing milk if you are breastfeeding so you could leave the baby at home with your mum or a friend, personally I don't think I'd be happy to do this so early on but I suppose it's an option to consider. My cousin has a 'no children' rule for her wedding in September, but apparently has made an exception for babies under 1 as they can't be left, so long as someone takes them outside if they start crying. Fair enough, they've planned the wedding for 4 years I wouldn't like crying during my vows either. I wouldn't worry before you need to worry, I think you may find when you fall pregnant they understand the situation and make an exception given he's the best man, but if they insist on making an issue of it I would just speak to the groom and say while you'd love to come your baby is still being breastfed and unfortunately won't be able to attend as s/he needs feeding every few hours.

Despite all my positivity that this would be a great money month it's not working out that way, the £360 for the buggy, plus £60 or so in fuel to get there, £200 Next bill that came in for the baby clothes and maternity wear I bought in the sales, £160 on the bras that I kept (), £175 on the birthday meal surprise.... I'm dreading that this may be just another 'break even' month - and we only have at most 4 more paychecks until the baby comes!

There was plenty of it though.
This was 6 months out of date so I've changed it.

True, but at least it was quiet and contained blubbing.
