Hi girls, eek to the tummy bug - try to keep hydrated. Girlfriend sounds like an absolute PITA - I'd never dream of behaving like that (well, at all, but especially) around someone else's family. Like Archers I worry people in general think I'm aloof because I'm so quiet!

That price for NY, was that the total for both of you? I'm off there with my girlies in October, been starting to look at flights and stuff and am gutted to see the prices are nothing like what they were a few years ago when I was looking at it with ex. Ah well - it's our 30th birthday treat to ourselves so just going to go with it.

Pleased to say I crossed something off my Day Zero list yesterday by baking my own bread! Surprisingly easy, just time consuming. Am all smug with my packed lunch of HM soup with HM bread today

Hair sounds pretty Cinny! I'm too chicken to dye mine, would be nice to have a change though, having the same hair colour for 26 years can be a little boring! Once my greys start to be more obvious I'll have to dye it all the time so I think I should just enjoy my natural colour while I can!

My weekend was quite nice, went to a friend's for Sunday lunch yesterday which was lovely but very diet un-friendly, how could I refuse treacle sponge when she'd been making it all morning especially for us?! We started to watch American Horror Story on Saturday, got through 5 episodes but really unsure how we felt about it. Not really scared, or grossed out... just a bit unsettled and uncomfortable! OH did double check all of the doors and windows were locked before bed just in case though!

I hope that OH will be getting another offer today, he's gone into negotiation mode now and knows the game that they're playing so fingers crossed he'll get enough for a holiday! He's still taking some convincing for Disneyland but if it was free he may go for it!

Tink- I wouldn't worry,as others have said being brought up differently is not the same as being down right rude.

When I went to new york 5 years agoish we only paid 250 ish return for flights and about the same for hotel. Seemed alot more expensive when we started looking again. We stayed at the pod hotel, which wasn't too far from everything. Our room had its own small bathroom but some of the cheaper rooms had shared bathrooms but they were really nice and you could lock the door to the whole bathroom iykwim.

We had a good weekend. We went to look at a wedding venue saturday and was lovely but was so expensive as was 6k with just the venue hire and the marquee before you have even started on food. Have found another one though that looks quite promising at a gold club so hopefully next time we are down we can look at that. Have costed out the food , drink, venue hire etc and comes in a lot cheaper than the first.

Yep that was the price for both, for 7 nights which obviously is longer than most people stay.

I have the exact same hair attitude Birdie, I'm looking forward to experimenting with my hair but it seems like I might regret it if I did it now while I like my natural colour and it's reasonably healthy looking. Can we get a hair piccie Cinny?

When's the next weigh in Birdie? If you've been on the wagon all week I don't think one portion of sponge is going to destroy all your good efforts. Although I always find week 2 I have slight gain anyway, no idea why, maybe it's just a natural adjustment.

Would you book late availability for Disneyland? I know there is plenty of other things to do there, but I would feel sad if I couldn't go on the rides when they were there right in front of me.

I was worrying about being ill and not eating being bad for the baby, but then I remembered there were weeks in 1st tri where I only kept down a piece of toast a day, so one or two days of tummy bug can't be too awful.

Gosh that is expensive Wendz. Ours was £4200 for exclusive venue use, food and champagne for 80 people and evening food for 160. What is a gold club please?

Cousin was saying at the weekend that her wedding is a baby and child free event - but it's this September at the other end of the country so we'll have a 3 month old! My mum spoke to hers later and apparently there is another baby who is due in August she's making an exception for, and a cousin due a week earlier (who probably won't make it) so she'll be okay with ours being there - which is good or we'd never be able to go.

Haha sorry golf club! 15 of our 100 day guests are going to be 6 or under with about 10 1 or 2 year olds. Hope she makes an exception for you. I couldn't have left Poppy at 3 months old,partly as she refuses bottles but also i would have hated being apart from her at such a young age.

The baby will be taking all of his/her nutrients so don't worry , it will just be you left with nothing.

Crikey! 6k? :eek: I mean this in the nicest possible way, considering how gorgeous all the threadie weddings have been, but when prices are mentioned I'm SO glad I'm not getting married!

That's the thing with my hair, I'm really not bothered if something turns out well or not. How nice! But I dye it, bleach it, cut it, will just wake up one morning and think 'Hmm, turquoise!' maybe it just shows some hidden mental problems but it's just hair. And with the right amount of coconut based products you can fix evvvrythang. I only have this photo of my hair though.

I really want to watch that American Horror Story, Birdie! But I noticed it when I started watching/reading Game of Thrones and thought, I really don't need anything else on top of this and wrestling. I do need to eat and yano, sleep sometimes.

Next weigh-in is tomorrow, I'm expecting to stay the same as the weekend wasn't too good on a whole, even without the pudding!

OH waited all morning for a call with a new offer, he nipped out for 30 seconds to put out the bin bags and missed it! Annoying! They left a message saying that an offer has been posted to him so we'll have to see what appears. Fingers crossed it's good!

Morning all. Feeling much better today, even going to try food of the non-toast variety at lunchtime.

1. Print and wrap boxes for Amazon and music magpie
2. Wrap amazon sold book and check nothing on risi needs sending
3. Get NIM to update the spreadsheet with our real numbers now we're not hiding the baby
4. List 10 things on ebay
5. Get a load through the washer

Having a bit of an easy day of it as still feeling achy but nothing like yesterday.

Glad you're feeling better today! Make sure you do take it easy as you don't want to get carried away then feel terrible because you did too much

I've had some great money news, my trainee-ship is over next month and I was expecting a £1.5k payrise and my manager told me that the original plan was for me to work my way up to the full salary over the next year *but* with all the changes going on and us getting a new department manager soon she doesn't know how easy it'd be to do so she's had a word with HR and I'm getting the full salary as from February 1st... a £3.5k payrise! :j I'm so chuffed!
