Hopefully he'll realise that relationships usually involve compromise in some way, be it from what you watch on the telly, what car you drive, or where you live. It can't be all on the side of one person, and yes it might not be what he's used to, but he might find he's happier anyway with a new challenge at work and more importantly the joy of living with the person he loves and taking your relationship to the next level.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

love the clothes D! I actually bought the dress (the little one with the tie at the back) for my sister for christmas but in black (grr paid full price!!) I think you've chosen very lovely things and I wish I'd got more chance to shop in the sales this year!
At the moment I'm feeling very meh with loads going on with work and uni and life thats making me feel very snowed under and im having lots of 'ground please swallow me up' moments grr!! I'm hating all the holiday chat too because we can't afford to go away and my work is really stingy with holiday allowance and I need some for studying so a holiday this year is basically looking non-existant!
Once this mess of my life is sorted out I'll try to look at my work calendar and bank balance and see what can be done! You're tempting me with the NY offers but I really want to go in winter and I've just traded ALL of my points at tesco for train vouchers0 -
pps Birdie, if they mean something, keep the Barbies, at least for now. perhaps they could be classed as your back up assets? Also, what do you think of the potential bald barbie?!?0

Morning,
Have you decided what you're doing about work Archers? Money must be tempting, but so must the thought of getting out on the day you've been planning to leave!
Good luck for the interview Ruby, don't worry too much about the what ifs until they actually become an issue though or you may end up subconsciously sabotage it for yourself somehow! It couldn't hurt your BF to at least look into what kind of jobs he could get, if he's in the forces he's in a pretty good position to find a job I'd have thought, it's not like he's doing something very specific to the area he's living now. Surely the thought of finally being together all the time should be enough to make him jump in a car and join you if you did move up here!
Sorry you're feeling a little snowed under right now Tink, hope it all gets better soon. Rubbish about (probably) not getting a holiday this year, maybe a couple of short breaks will make you feel like you've had time off, even if it's just a B&B at the seaside!
Re: the Barbies, I think I'll sell the few that I'm not too attached to, we don't really have the room for them anyway but I'll do what Dinah suggested and keep the money for a treat so they went to a good cause!
I don't really know how I feel about Bald Barbie, there was one in the 60s with moulded hair and wigs which was pretty cool but she actually had some hair so it wasn't too freaky for kids, I've actually got a Fashion Royalty doll (like Barbie but more expensive) with the moulded hair and a couple of wigs because I'd always wanted a wigged doll when I was younger. I think that if they had a baldie, they'd have to sell her with some wigs and a headscarf to make it a) a little more realistic for kids to know what's going on underneath headscarves when they see people wearing them and b) to make it more sellable quite frankly. When I was young I wouldn't have bought just a bald doll because a lot of the fun of Barbie is playing with her hair... but then if she comes with wigs I guess that kind of defeats the object of what they're trying to do! I honestly think from a marketing perspective it won't work too well; kids who've never been touched by cancer won't want a bald doll so they'll have to produce it in limited numbers which will then make it collectable so the price will double on ebay and kids who actually want a doll they can relate to won't be able to get one because they're too expensive.Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. Oooh and the Boots glitch is still working, went last night and got more vitamins and vitamin shots (which OH is taking as he's under the weather and doing anything to perk himself up!) and picked up a pretty pink 'Project D' washbag full of miniature smellies reduced from £18 to £4.50... then down again to £4.09 with the glitch!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. Not able to focus very well today, my brother has been feeling under the weather and was at the doctors last week, had blood tests etc. They called up to ask him to come in for an urgent retest today, but he's back at uni so asked if he could come end of next week. They said no, they need him back at the latest tomorrow. So worried what has come up on his tests now.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Fingers crossed it's not too bad, you know that they like to double check things sometimes if there's a slight anomaly, could be nothing.
Just played my first game of badminton in about 10 years with a group from work, was much fun but I suuuuuck! You know that something's amiss when every shot you hit is greeted with a 'Yeah! Hope it's nothing serious Dinah, hopefully they're just rushing the retest to be on the safe side
Birdie, that sounds like loads of fun! Who cares if you suck? You're probably burning more calories with all that running about and swiping furiouslybtw, the digestive was good, but resisting biscuits is probably the reason you lost 5lb last week (and I didn't
