    5. On my list is somewhat challenged by the fact the camera is with NIM, so I'm doing listings without photos instead and I can upload those pictures I do have tonight.

Just had a phone call from the guy who runs the glass class on a Thursday night, asking if we were aware we'd missed the first one last week as only 2 people turned up. I feel really bad now, as we're trying to cancel our places as there is an ante-natal class starting on a Thursday we want to go to. He said he also runs one on a Wednesday night in a different location and sounded so hopeful we'd go to that one instead.

Hopefully he'll realise that relationships usually involve compromise in some way, be it from what you watch on the telly, what car you drive, or where you live. It can't be all on the side of one person, and yes it might not be what he's used to, but he might find he's happier anyway with a new challenge at work and more importantly the joy of living with the person he loves and taking your relationship to the next level.

Hehe that's what I'm hoping to sway him with; the idea of living together and the much cheaper rent than he's paying at the moment! Will let you know how it goes!

  • Oooh dear Dinah, hope it's nothing bad. Hopefully it'll just be something like iron levels maybe and whoever passed on the message was told that it's important he knows this soon. Fingers crossed

I've decided to do 3 extra days at work, but take one of them as holiday. I had one day left to take anyway and was hoping just to get it paid so it's the same difference really and easier to sort out. Get to meet my part time replacement on Monday so I'll have to look busy and professional!

Ooh fingers crossed ruby, I've been long distance with my boyfriend for nearly 4 and a half years now. Though the last 6 months we've only been 20 miles apart and I work where he lives, but being back with parents means we don't spend masses of time together. Praying that after travelling we can get sorted, it's hard trying to balance career stuff with locations though isnt it :(

Brother has glandular fever which appears to have impaired his liver function, so they're retesting to see if the liver thing is a blip or something more serious. So, not as awful as they were making out. They did say I needed to get tested as a matter of urgency, but when I called my doctor they were confused as to why as glandular fever is not very contagious, and can't be passed over the placenta at all.

    1. Pack for London
    2. List 10 things on ebay
    3. Get NIM to update the spreadsheet with our real numbers now we're not hiding the baby
    4. Get all washing up through dishwasher
    5. Print Amazon postage labels

REALLY not liking the look of the weather. I need to walk into town for 3.30 (about a 30min walk) and it looks like it's going to bucket down any minute. I can see me arriving very, very damp.

Friend was over last night and she asked to hear the baby's heart beat with the doppler. I thought it was really sweet she asked, and also I was chuffed how easy it was to find this time now he's that much bigger. 12 days to go until I can say 'he' with certainty :D

Oh gosh, how fast it's going! I have a 'He' feeling about the bump too :)

Good news that your brother isn't too bad in the grand scheme of things :)

OH got a call from Jet2 yesterday, after waffling on for ages about how sorry they are they offered him a 'goodwill gesture' of £500 and 2 free return flights anywhere in Europe. OH told them to add another zero and he'd accept it so they'll be getting back in touch at some point after reconsidering their offer! At least they've accepted the blame and are willing to compensate him now; I'm surprised that OH refused it TBH, normally he'd agree to sell his soul for £50 but I'm very glad he did as I think that they were definitely trying it on by offering such a small amount when they must know that burns claims can run into the thousands, it's not even enough to comfortably cover the cost of the hotel and food etc when we use their free flights to go on holiday!

Well done on him for holding out. Bit sneaky of them to do it over the phone rather than in writing though.

  • Wow Birdie, I would have bitten their hands off for the £500 :o - well done your OH for digging his heels in! What'll you do with the money? You could keep your girls after all! Also on the badminton ... I used to play that years ago with Dad - it was all bending and stretching to retrieve the shuttlecock from the floor :o

I thought it would be something silly for your bro Dinah, they were maybe making more of it because he's a young lad and perhaps not likely to go in if they said it wasn't life-threatening? I thought glandular fever WAS very contagious though? What's the 'kissing disease'?

My friend had one of those ultrasound thingies, they spent weeks early on in her pregnancy listening to the strong 'heartbeat' only for the midwife to tell her it couldn't possibly be that at that stage - they'd been cooing over the placenta noises! :D

Glad it's nothing too serious with your brother Dinah. I have a feeling baby is a he too. Had a cuddle with baby Tate yesterday, so cute! Can't believe poppy was once smaller than that .

Birdie - well done to your Oh on saying no to the holiday company . I'm sure they will come back with a better offer.

Ruby - Oh and I were apart the three years I was at uni then I moved to London and he decided to come with me and transfer to a different branch of his work then applied and got his dream job as a police officer so all worked out for the best .

Is oh's birthday today . Made him carrot cake so will see how that tastes later . Going out for lunch and hopefully more tiny baby cuddles later .

Yeah I thought that too! I wonder if there's a way he can record conversations on his phone so next time they call he can make them admit it was their fault again?! :p

We'll be using the money for a holiday!

I'm feeling very sore today from badders, legs are sore from retrieving the shuttlecock and from my failed attempts at leaping across the court :o and my back aches from the overzealous swinging of the racket! :o Think I'm going to play again next week though as it was really fun :)

Hehehe, it's like when people get all excited about their baby's first smile when it's just gas! :p

I was reliably informed by my friend (same friend actually so prob not too reliable) that ACTUALLY it IS a smile, even at two weeks... I'm not convinced....

Hope the carrot cake is OK Wendz, I love the Be-Ro recipe for it (prob said that before!)
