Really? When my midwife was doing the whole 'selling' breastfeeding thing to me she made the argument that your body builds fat stores during pregnancy to feed the baby after you give birth. I'm doing an NCT course soon though so I'm sure I'll be a lot more clued up then, at the moment I'm kind of clueless and taking it one stage at a time.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Just to add to the baby talk, one of my friends gave birth last night. I was at work and got a call about half 8 from the midwife saying my friend who I also work with) wanted to show the baby off so anyone on duty could pop up and see them. A lovely little baby boy called River (was a bit shocked at the name, but I think it suits him). 8 lb 4 of gorgeousness and it's making me all broody
And thank you for all the comments regarding the job I didn't get. Going to start looking again now, hopefully something will come up!
Glad to see you back Cinny, hope everything calms down with your brother. Hopefully he'll realise in his own time that she isn't right for him.
Congratulations on the weight loss Birdie! I've started Slimming World again today in a bid to get rid of the weight! Going to use my tumblr to help keep track of everything.

Yes, but I think it's more like everyone is different. she had to eat more regularly because she was constantly hungry and she breastfed on demand and although she was eating healthy food, she still took more in. Once she stopped breastfeeding, the hunger disappeared and she lost the weight without dieting.
My boss was the same, she lost 8 pounds after birth but the last 9 got shifted once she stopped breastfeeding.0 -
I'm more afraid I won't be able to bf than anything else. Because I was a preemie I hadn't developed a very good sucking motion so didn't latch on, and mum says it's her biggest regret for when I was a baby that she paniced and went to the bottle. Although now hopefully I'd be able to either express or do combined feeding or something.
Finally got all my ebay bits photographed which always seems to take the longest. Several pictures have a cat tail or nose in as she was very curious as to what is going on (and also not used to a camera being on and not pointed at her I bet, she's a right diva!).Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

The bfing worked for me and I eat like a horse ! Pushing the buggy around helps too!
As long as you try thats what matters Dinah. Sometimes it just doesn't work out. I struggled the first couple of days until a really nice volunteer helped me.
Just got Poppy weighed and measured (still a littlen) and sent my ebay parcels.0 -
Dinah, like Wendz says as long as you try. Some babies just can't breast feed. I was one and my mum sat for 3 days/nights trying to bf me with a midwife helping her to get me to latch on. I was bottle fed in the end and my mum was a calmer mum to me than when she was stressed out trying to bf me. So try it and if it works then fab. Best for you and baby but if it doesn't work then at least you can say you tried. Don't beat yourself up about itGoals for FebruaryDeclutter 2/50Money Made £0/£200Overpayments £0/£2000

Hello all, yikes, it has been a while - Christmas was v busy with my cousin's wedding and all, all very nice
Just getting back into the swing of work and it's actually pretty quiet at the mo and I know I should be using this time to put some systems in place, make sure my filing's in order etc but I've been using it to have a little peep at MSE. Got myself signed up to the £2012 in 2012 thread as I have a few bits to ebay, hopefully it'll spur me on.
It made me smile when you were all talking about baby names the other day, reminded me of a distant relative of mine whose baby hasn't been born yet but already has a name and her own photo album on FB, entitled Niamh (Neave) - which just makes me cringe - it's not THAT unusual a name nowadays that it needs phonetic clarification surely?
Brilliant weightloss for a week Birdie! I'm still working on the Christmas chocolatesWeightloss: 14.5/65lb0 -
Wayhey we're getting all the classic threadies out the woodwork today (was going to say golden oldies but decided that was less tactful). Lovely to see you Tete. Been following your blog and hoping you'd find time to come back and post soon.
Good luck with £2012 in 2012, I got out the swing of things a bit over Christmas, I'm desperate to get things moving again now. February WILL be my month.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Doing the bits about maternal and infant nutrition were some of the bits I found most interesting about my degree. Growing a baby is an awesome thing! Same with all the mechanics of breastfeeding, I think it's definitely worth a try, and if it's not for you then we're lucky to have formula which is a good alternative. Can you imagine doing all your childbearing in the middle ages, risky stuff!
Hi Tete and Cinny! Just been reading your 30 day declutter Tete, it's motivating! Bummer about your bro Cinny, he'll come round in time...I hope. Same with yours Dinah
I have a 45 minute presentation to be getting on with for an interview next week, the amount of hoops to jump through to get a job is ridiculous. Wish I was a mechanic or something instead.

wow hi everyone!! Esp Cinny and Tete good to see you
I have no idea about the breastfeeding thing but it sounds like you are all pretty clued up and Dinah I'm sure you'll be fine when the time comes!
I've had a very busy week and theres just more and more to come for most of Jan and Feb I think!
Do you have any links to the fface bits you bought Dinah? I love seeing what people buy! I've treated myself to a few bits recently (but from ebay!) but OH is back out of work again now as of last week so I'm finding money a little tight and I dont really like him not being in work because it puts a bit of tension between ushopefully the house will be clean though! fingers crossed he finds something soon though!
ps archers, some job processes are so horrible arent they! whats the presentation on? I once had to give a half hour presentation on cushions for a job interview!!0
