Arrrrggggghhhhhh:wall::wall::wall::wall::wall::wall::wall::wall::wall::wall:
This is the most frustrating thing I've ever come across
You're allowed 2000 characters for every job .... my current one is a bit difficult as I was "unofficially" seconded to another role for a year and a lot of that work is relevant to the new post - but I can't list it separately as I have nothing "official" (eg contract, change of job title etc) to back it up - so I'm having to add a para after my recent job to cover it.
I was over the 2000 characters & have managed to get it down to 1989 and ..... "your description must be less than 2000 characters" keeps coming up:wall::wall::wall::wall::wall::wall::wall::wall::wall::wall:

Ahhhhhhhh finished *sigh*
Not perfect - and I could certainly have done with another couple of days to work on it (only found it yesterday and it closes today:o) but it's taken me around 6 hours to do over the 2 days  (is it me that's really carp at doing these things!)
Going to relax for a bit now - have just turned on the Jubilee boat programme and can't believe how bad the weather is therethe poor Queen (and most of the other people I've seen) look absolutely frozen ...... it's cold here but is lovely and sunny - although we have had a few torrential downpours, they've only lasted around 10 mins each time.
Pleased to say that Maisie did remember me :j - there was lots of wiggling going on when I arrived:D She's looking really well and the op site is so neat & small (it's amazing what they can do nowadays). She has her final check-up on Friday and should hopefully be home then!:)
Can't wait as it's really quiet without her - although the cats are in their element ..... they'll be horrified when she comes back :rotfl:Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Well done and good luck with the application. :TI always think there is something quite cathartic about applying for a new job, even if I'm not successful - it sort of proves I won't make do indefinitely and I'm prepared to try and do something about it. I suppose it's a psychological escape plan! :rotfl:
Enjoy the rest of the weekend (miserable weather here). DH lit the fire this evening! so much for flaming June!

Ohhhh I like that thought ..... a psychological escape plan, yup:D
Now having another dilemma - I have absolutely nothing suitable to wear should I get an interview . I did have a very good job several years ago (ie had to wear suits / be very smart everyday - which have been safely tucked away in suit bags as they're not needed where I am now) but I've put on about 3 stone since then & can't get into any of them:o (and with the best will in the world, I'm not going to shift all that in a couple of weeks when the interviews will be:rotfl:).
Arrrrgggghhh - can't really afford to buy a new suit just on the off-chance I get an interview.:(
Anyway, off today :j- think nearly everyone was off yesterday apart from us. Looking quite promising outside so must get the wm on & earning it's keep!;)Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

OK .... confession time
I went up to town & did get a new suit but the trousers were £18 and will do for everyday work (down to 2 pairs & 1 of those really should've seen the bin a long time ago:o) - jacket was £38 (and will prob get used the odd day too) which I didn't think was too bad so all in all reasonably pleased.
However, just been updating my spreadsheet and once today's spends are added in (new underwear - again desperately needed) - I'm down to ...... £13 left of my clothes budget for the rest of the year:eek:. This was one of the new budgets this year and I knew it really was too low but couldn't really afford to put more to it IYKWIM:(.
So .... thinking I may need to rework the figures a bit (dog walker & insurance also needs added in).....
Enjoyed the concert last night & had a bit of a lie in this morning (ie it was just after 6am when I got up :rotfl:) so onwards & upwards as they say!:)Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Well .... seems to be Saturday again!:j
Best news ......... Maisie's coming home today :j:j:j - cats are going to get the shock of their lives (hope they all start to settle down together soon but suspect I may be back to square one since she's been away for a fortnight:(). Anyway, DM coming  so running round trying to hoover, tidy up etc :rotfl:honestly, the place will still be a tip but at least slightly more presentable - well downstairs anyway!:oGrocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Weekly pots update
Not sure if this is the best way to do this ..... I'm starting to get confused with the balances to come off as everything is paid on the cc and cleared at the end of each month eg I still have some May stuff to come off (as on June cc bill) but only part of June will come off this month ..... confused
It's not too bad with the ones where there's only 1 or 2 payments (eg house ins & line rental or dentist & hair etc) but the ones where there can be multiple small payments to come off (eg pets) ..... any suggestions?
Maybe I should only do once a month ..... when the pots have "been fed" and the amounts moved to pay the cc bill ....
Pets £240.62 *
Car & House £662.54 #
Others £259.51 +
Savings £40.72 *
# House insurance (£228) and Landline advance rental (£113.88) both on June cc bill so £341.88 to be deducted from above total
+ Others pots have increased a lot this week as I've reworked my annual budgets which meant there was a bit to transfer to them to get them to where they should be IYWKIM
* Have paid Maisie's Op (£185:eek:) - £100 came out the "absolute last ditch" emergency account (which now only has £11.59 left in it:eek:), £50 from the round down savings pot :j (like this & will def keep doing it!:T) and £35 from dog fund *sigh* - glad it's paid for tho' and over & done ........

In respect of things I don't pay every month, I now maintain a column of "allowing for" money and next to it the actual running costs for the year. So for example the car parking at work is four quarterly payments and I amend the actual as I pay it. Fuel (as in fuel oil and bottled gas to cook with) is another example and it allows me to see what has happened year on year. Then I only need to transfer the shortfall for this bill and increase the "allowing for" for the forthcoming year. I do this by adding the column totals (so 4 x the car park in the cell, house and buildings is a one-off, and so on) and dividing the column total by 12 so I know what my pot for all these things needs to be. I move more than that monthly total to my ING savings account and then it is our emergency pot and for when the big bills hit.
I have in the last year started recording the due date but also the month in which the money will clear from my credit card - so the landrover insurance runs from 31st May but the payment hit my card this month after the cc statement date so is recorded with the due date (May - so I check the online renewal premium in May) and payment in July so I have moved the money back from the savings to the current account in time for the automatic cc clearance.
I separately maintain a log of the regular monthly payments and separately again, a record of credit card spend, on a statement date basis. I reconcile the credit card entries back to the monthly and periodic spend sheet by colouring this month's payment cells and updating the actuals.
Oh dear, now I've written it down it sounds horrendous but it does work for me!
What I am trying to say is I think you need only cover the gap between what you allow and the actual and then increase the pot provision going forward (and not back).
I hope the return of Maisie goes well
I'm off to meet my friend and inspect her new bathroom

SL I get what you mean
and your insurance example is exactly what I'm meaning - why does everything have to be so complicated tho!:o
Think I may try a monthly pot update and see how that goes:) (I do keep track of all spends in my spreadsheet). The spreadsheet runs calendar month but the cc runs from 16th - 15th so I'll probably do the pot feed and then deduct what needs to be paid that month IYSWIM. Will have a ponder on that for a few days!:oGrocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)
