Awwww, i hope she gets better soon Rising. Its so scary when animals are ill isnt it, especially as they cant say whats wrong.
I am going to have to allocate some money to starting a 'Pet Fund' now that i have Marley (my new springer spaniel), as dogs are more expensive than cats i think!0 -
Cleggie - you've got a dog already!
OMG will have to head to your diary now!
Yup pets pots is fantastic - allows huge savings on bulk buying and means most things are covered. Maisie's pot is rather sad atm tho' as only paid for her spay op (£200) last week!
I've changed vet fairly recently and have been really impressed with the new ones - the bill today was around 1/2 what I thought it would be! (still could've done without it for a couple of months tho!)Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)
2016 Sell: £125/£250
£1,000 Emergency Fund Challenge #78 £3.96 / £1,000Vet Fund: £410.93 / £1,000
Debt free & determined to stay that way!0 -
Yep, once i decide on something i dont hang around!
That said, i have been considering a dog for a while now, and had to turn down a black lab pup the other day.
I actually got Marley from a buying/selling page on FB! I wouldnt normally go about it this way, but the woman who had him was obviously very concerned that he was going to a good home and was sad to see him go.
See asked lots of Qs and we met this morning under the condition that if she didnt think we were suitable that she woud be able to say so.
I would normally have pots of money at home, but since the break in, i am now planning on putting everything in the bank and taking my debit and credit cards to bed with me!0 -
Please keep your fingers crossed - cut off date for the cc bill is the 16th (today) and really, really hoping Maisie's vets bill from this morning doesn't hit this months bill! Funds are a bit tight :odue to just having paid for her spay op (£200) last week and that wiped out the "last ditch" emergency fund  so I could really, really do with it not hitting until next month ......Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Seriously tempted but emergency vet is in Edinburgh (joys of living in a rural place) so taxi would be out the question.
