  • Yup - picked a chicken (cooked so there's plenty for Maisie for the next couple of days), made stock and then risotto - was really yum (and enough left for tomorrow) and really needed it as didn't get a lot to eat yesterday / hadn't had anything since breakfast today.

    Maybe just a teeennny one

  • Well, slept better last night :o but still a bit washed out IYKWIM (why does one night's loss of sleep take a week to catch up on ..... maybe I'm getting old:eek:).

Been out for a short walk with Maisie that she seemed to enjoy & she's had her breakfast (so eating fine;)) with the antibiotics in that just disappeared (very handy if they'll take them in food - I remember giving Ben some in his food & I'd cut the pill into 8 teeeeennnny pieces .... there were 7 left in the bottom of the bowl once he'd finished:rotfl:).

She's crashed out again on the sofa but at least she's eating well & hopefully she'll be back to normal in a couple of days.

Need to pop to get some salad stuff for lunches today - might just make do with the Co*op tho as can't really justify fuel for trip to Mr A just for that.

Really need to do some batch cooking as finally finished the huge hoard of RM home meals :T mmmm might just get some mince out the freezer now & do a huge pot of Chilli later.

    Also ..... interview prep!

    And it's still raining

Glad to hear that Maisie is doing better and is eating :)

Chilli sounds yummy and i am actually going to defrost some mince so that we can have chilli ater..thanks for the idea!!
  • Popped to the Co*op for the salad bits .... got home & realised I've no onions (to be fair, I don't eat them a lot) but Chilli without onions ...... a def no!

So .... had to go back again :o - luckily it's just down the road.

Maisie's still not herself & am really worried about her - she's bright enough when she's awake but she's really tired & sleeping most of the time :( - not sure if it's the antibiotics or whatever she's got. Hope she turns the corner soon & is back to her bouncy self.

Haven't even been online to do my pot rounding:o - have decided to only post the update once a month once they've been fed & the money moved to pay the cc bill but still want to do my weekly round-down as that's been fab and had just over £90 saved in under 6 months (sadly now mostly used - but at least it was there for when it was needed).

Need to do more interview prep - totally shattered though ....

Oh Rising, i am really hoping that Maisie starts to perk up for you.

In regards to the onions- have you considered buying frozen diced onions? i was ALWAYS throwing onions away, or forgetting to buy them in the 1st place, so i now buy a bag of frozen diced ones from the SM. Its only about £1 a bag that lasts me about a month.
  • Thanks Cleggie funnily enough I do usually have a tub with diced frozen onion portioned up but I think it was one of the casualties when my fridge/freezer packed up at Christmas and I've just never got around to doing it again (really hate doing it as my eyes sting for ages after chopping them).

I rarely use them as they're not particularly good for me so I use leeks instead in most things but - there's just some things (really Chilli & Curry) that you just have to have onions for!

I had to buy a bag today (co*op unfortunately don't sell veg individually or bags of frozen ones as it's a wee shop) so will get chopping again ..... sometime!
