What a lovely surprise to win a competition. When I used to do comps on a regular basis I got excited about a mug or DVD, heaven knows what I'd be like with £100

    Morning

Pushkin - i don't enter that many, not as many as some people i read about - maybe 10 a day.. it still takes a good hour though to trawl through them all and find the ones you want to enter.

I definitely don't do as many as i used to, i was getting a bit disheartened at not winning..

Hi Beanie  good to see you!

Goldie, i think i'd have been just as excited at the book or DVD too.. i think it's the fact you're getting something for nothing :rotfl:

On with my work day then, i'm trying to find an app that will play me nice, relaxing music through the day (we're allowed headphones at work)

I sit next to a mood hoover and i find it difficult to concentrate and not get dragged down, so i thought this might be a good option to keep my stress levels even :D

    Have a good day xx

  • A mood Hoover! Never heard that before but know exactly what you mean. I once won a pair of tights. I don't even wear the things but was so excited to receive nice post.

I downloaded a nice app for work with ambient music on it:T.. it's lovely, I feel really relaxed now, it doesn't completely block everyone out but it makes them less important in the noise IYKWIM.

Only downside? it makes me want to book a day at the spa because it's the same music :rotfl: not so MSE is it! OH and I are going to go for his birthday in May :j hopefully i'll have lost a bit more weight by then!

12lbs down so far but struggling to get more off.. need more of this :j:j and less of this :EasterBun

Unfortunately it isn't just chocolate that's been the problem, I've been eating anything and everything  onwards and downwards though (in weight terms) even if it takes a year to get to target then i'll still be there by next Christmas.. then I can spend 2 weeks putting it all back on :j;)

Had a not so good week at work, it's made me even more determined to try and get this mortgage down to a manageable level so that if I leave/get made redundant/go off sick/get sacked/have to care for an elderly parent* then I don't have the worry of finding £1k a month to keep a roof over our heads.

So money saving things this week...
    • OH has taken to making his own soups instead of paying £2 odd for the shop bought ones - last week Broccoli and Stilton, this week BNS and Chorizo
    • £10 Amaz0n voucher claimed from Ips0s
    • £5.05 TT OP'd to mortgage - wanted to just do 5p but I have to trf more than £1 :( so I rounded it up
    • £81 trip to the butchers - should last a good couple of months - probably saved £50 on the same amount of meat at the supermarkets
    • showed OH how shutting the doors to the living room makes the room a lot cosier without having to turn the heating UP! Bless him, he's learning :D he did say after "why did you never tell me that would make me warmer"

I've been reading a few blogs lately about weight loss, and one in particular caught my attention about trying to turn your negative thought process to a positive one, this is something I really struggle with (especially sitting next to the mood hoover). So I think 2015 will be the year I try and see the positives in stuff rather than the negatives..

I bought a food diary, to keep track of my food for Slimming World and it also has an exercise bit to fill out, well that won't be used :rotfl: so instead I will fill it out with positives for the day. Already today I woke up to glorious sunshine and the squirrel family, blue tits and other birds playing in my garden so it's already a :D day..

Hope everyone is ok with the weather we've been having, i'm hoping not to wake up to snow tomorrow - off to check the weather report now!
