I've managed to do 8 hours overtime today and should be another 5-6 hours to come tomorrow so hopefully it'll be disappearing properly soon!

Happy Sunday! It's been glorious here today but chilly as anything brrrr

Ended up doing 9 hours overtime yesterday  it was ok, I turned down a free KFC because i'm back on my Slimming World plan, so that upset me :rotfl: but got everything done that needed to be (I hope!)

We popped out to town this morning to get a bit of fresh air, bought some Sudafed sinus relief stuff £5.69  really needed to relieve the pain in my head though. :(

My sister bought some sort of cold/flu type virus up with her so me and OH have both been poorly since Xmas day. He's ended up on a course of penicillin from the doctors as he couldn't swallow anything and I've just been getting by on paracetamol. I'm hoping it goes soon..

    So money saving ways today..
    - all accounts reconciled
    - £80.50 OP to mortgage - Fuel savings
    - £6.87 OP to mortgage - interest from T$B
    - Second Offset ac opened so money transferred

    To do
    - change signature
    - catch up on diaries
    - update all survey sites

    xx

Realised I haven't done a recap of 2014 or set any goals for 2015..

    2014
    • Paid off £5k from mortgage
    • overall reduction in debt was £6,351 a lot lower than last year but that's because of points 3 and 4
    • bought and paid for a 'new to us' car
    • home improvements done - garden landscaped :T
    • opened a new offset mortgage, saving interest and bringing the end date of the mortgage even closer:j
    • savings took a bit of a hit in the summer but these are now back up to a comfortable level of £10k so we're set for 6-12 months should one of us lose our job
    • £500 earnt from cashback/surveys

    2015 goals
    • Save £12,000 in the offset account
    • increase mortgage payments to £1000 again - should be doable in March/April time
    • completely clear the family loan
    • meet my MFIT target in December 15
    • save all overtime payments
    • continue to go to Slimming World classes and reach target - I know now that I can't lose weight on my own - it'll cost £5 per week until I reach target
    • have a big holiday for OH's 40th
    Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.

I am in awe of that - averages out at £41 per month - I managed £20 in 4 months! Keep saying I'll stop doing the surveys but seeing that inspires me (and maybe brings out my competitive side :D)
  • I should set some financial goals but I can't see past the kitchen renovation at the moment. I have got 12 challenges (one per month) for this year but not money related.
    MFW: Nov 2008 £156k, Jun 2015 £129k, Jun 2017 £114k.

Thanks for popping by Pushkin and MRN

How much we setting as a target this year then Pushkin?;) I was disappointed this year as I "earned" £800 odd in 2013 but I knew I'd not tried as hard.. It does get dull at times!!

I think I cheat a bit because I do consumerpulse so get about £100 a year from that. I'd love to do shop and scan but I've never been invited no matter how many times I've registered. They obviously don't want a 2 person and a cat household from our area.

MRN - kitchen renovations sound exciting! Set yourself a goal of setting some goals once the renovations are finished...

No money doings today, I don't have the energy. Really fed up of being poorly now :( the tablets I bought yesterday have set off my hives again so I've had to stop using them. Went to bed covered in an itchy, burny rash - very unpleasant and now I have no way to get rid of the pressure in my sinuses

Way wah wahing all the way to bed :D

    Night night x

  • Sorry you're under the weather Shala. Have you tried Otrivine Natural. It's just sea water with eucalyptus and I found it really helped to keep my sinuses clear when I was poorly. They also do a medicated version for sinusitis.

Haven't been on for a while.. I've got my self caught up reading a ladies blog who has lost 22 stone. she still has about 10 stone to go but I admire her dedication to getting herself healthy and well again. It's helped see that even if a goal seems far away it, set yourself smaller targets and work towards it - it's better than not doing anything at all :) feeling inspired!

Our household is feeling normal again :j:j we both ended up having a few days off work last week to recover  it's not like we've only just gone back or anything :rotfl:

Oh well, I didn't want to pass germs onto anyone and it would have taken a lot longer to recover had we pushed ourselves.. sometimes the sensible option is the one to take even though you do feel guilty!

Came home to some great post this evening.. I won £100 in one of the competitions that I entered :T:j:T:j I've obviously transferred it to the mortgage already :D only 1450 more competitions of that calibre to win to pay off the mortgage!

OH was laughing at how excited I was :rotfl:

    So money stuff this week
    • £100 winnings OP'd to mortgage
    • £15 Amaz0n voucher requested from surveyhe*d - will be finishing with this one once it's arrived
    • £20 Debenh*ms voucher requested from CP
    • no shopping this weekend
