Evening..
Book sold on Eb*y so after fees etc i'll pocket about £7-8 :j not millions, but better to get some pennies in for a book I don't want..
Xmas deliveries have been trickling in today, nothing broken or damaged so far:T and most of it has been glass items.
I decided this year that I wasn't doing hampers again.. however, my sister really enjoys hers so I've also ordered some foodie bits and I'll be making some Chorizo jam and infused sea salts. For everyone else we'll be getting restaurant vouchers.
Bathroom painting tomorrow :j may need to get some pretty bits and some baskets to tidy everything up once it's done - Dunelm here I come :rotfl:.. bath panel can also go back on now we're certain the leak is fixed :j Can't wait to get everything back to normal!Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.0 -

Hi Pushkin, It was a Slimming W0rld cookery book.. I think text books and dieting ones sell quite well and it was free to me anyway..
If i'd have paid for it then I wouldn't have made that much profit!
p.s. I didn't steal it btw :rotfl:Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.0 -
Afternoon.. haven't been on in a while - I feel as though I've lost my mojo a bit as I've got less money shuffles to do these days! It's somehow less fun isn't it? :rotfl:
Pay day was yesterday so all went into the offset savings pot until the end of the month then i'll transfer some of it to pay bills..
My spreadsheets are no longer working properly as everything has been bunged in one account so I've contacted YBS this afternoon and requested another offset account to be opened that I can stick my wages into and pay everything out of there.. I was feeling a little bank account light after having so many so I thought i'd add another back in :rotfl::rotfl:
The rest of the afternoon will be spent going through a stack of admin that seems to have piled up whilst watching xmas movies :xmassmile:santa2: I might write some Xmas lists too :j:j
Happy weekend everyone xx will go and read and catch up with everyone now!!Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.0 -

In years gone by, I'd go in for the odd competition when I saw them, mainly sending postcards to addresses I saw in magazines, and then by email. I never won anything big, but I'd get a book, cd, or DVD every couple of months. I thought it was quite a good return on spending a couple of minutes sending a postcard or email.
So, with that in mind, August / September time this year I went in for masses of competitions, spending a couple of hours a day on it. I thought I could sell any winnings, to raise a bit more money. I also thought that I'd gone in for so many competitions, I was bound to win something.
Not a single prize was won.
That was one money raising initiative that I abandoned :rotfl:
I hope you have better luck than I didEarly retired - 18th December 2014

Thanks Goldie, we must have started around the same time - i haven't won anything either
I'm still hopeful for that big win :rotfl:Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.0 -
I've had a few bouts of entering comps. I've won a few high end phones :j , about £100, an electric shower and a few other bits and pieces. All the valuable stuff was ebay'd. Just don't have the time now and it's mind numbingly boring! Did them all* off MSE and loved it when I very occasionally found one I could post in return.
* Just remembered one was from a mag I picked up in a phone shop while doing a mystery shop. That one was a nice little earner, £10 for the shop and £270 for the phone :rotfl:.
In the 'olden days' I know newspaper comp entries were odd - basically they'd have more entries to win a DVD than for a car as people thought they stood no chance of winning the car. Not sure if that's replicated online but my experience suggests it is.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

I think you are right, GG
Most of my wins came from competitions I found in my family history research magazines, which had a low circulation.
I think the problem with the ones listed on MSE, is that they are visible to a massive audience, all keen to enter competitions, so the odds are stacked against a win. I do see posts from people who've won, but wonder what their winnings to competitions entered ratio isEarly retired - 18th December 2014

Some good wins GG!!
If I hadn't found Robof0rm then there's no way i'd be entering any competitions :rotfl: at least using that means I don't have to do too much typing.. now if only someone could invent one Robof0rm to answer the boring questions at the start of surveys!!
Goldie, I read on a post somewhere that a lady spent hours a day entering between 100-200 competitions  i'm not sure i'm that dedicated!!
Off to enter a few more whilst I watch Location, Location, LocationMortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.0
