    Afternoon all...

Not done much again today.. i'm really enjoying our relaxing days although OH isn't enjoying being un-busy smiley-rolleyes010.gif

Unfortunately the list (transferred from previous post) hasn't had much done on it
    •gutters replaced - man still hasn't turned up - he's promised Saturday - we'll see!
•bush trimming - OH didn't ring the bush trimming fella in time so he won't get round this week
    •grass cutting - done:j
•garden gravelling - didn't get the gravel, OH was not sure how much we needed
•cleaning upstairs windows - not done, although all downstairs is
•sorting the bath out (still leaking ) - Saturday apparently
•replacing the kitchen ceiling - see above
•boiler needs servicing - BG not coming out until the 26th
•upholstery in my car needs a good clean - done :j

Also had to ring the mortgage people again, it's been weeks since we started the application and still we haven't had the offer letter. Every time I ring they say "oh yes, we're just working on it" and I was promised last week that i'd have an offer letter by Wednesday - well that didn't happen! So I've been promised again that they were just looking at it and the offer letter will be sent by 1st class post at that very minute and should arrive in the next 2-3 working days - now I don't use Royal Mail much but first class usually means next day doesn't it

Anyway rant over... it's on it's way hopefully and we're a step closer to new mortgage :j

    Staycation spends :

    • 5th staycation day - F&B lunch - £25
    • 6th staycation day - took MIL out for lunch £30, took money out for guttering man if he turns up £250:eek:
    Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.

    Exciting, busy day today!!
    - mortgage offer/pack has finally arrived - a night of reading the massive booklet, sorting my spreadsheet and filling out forms is ahead of me! :D very exciting...
    - gutter man came, the gutters now look beautiful - cost £250
    - BIL came round to fix the bath leak :T:T - cost for new part £7
    - BIL also fixed toilets while he was here, the cisterns haven't filled up properly for about 2 years :o - cost £0 :T
    - my glucose testing kit arrived - tested my blood and it seems fine :T

I've been getting a bit lightheaded recently so thought i'd try and see if I was having issues with my blood sugar (dad has type 2 so you never know).. it seemed a little low but I hadn't eaten for a good few hours. Just had me lunch so i'll check again in 2 hours..

    So spends

    • 7th staycation day - £20 on glucose test thingy
    • 8th staycation day - £10 - plumbing bits and lunch bits

Just one more day left of staycation :( already dreading going back to work..

Had a bit of a play around with my mortgage spreadsheet last night, I think our aim will be to be mortgage neutral in 7 years  it's may be a bit ambitious and OH did actually do this  when I told him but I think we might be able to make it.. i'll be 45(and a half):D so end of 2021 is where we're aiming at!

This assumes all things remain the same as they are... fingers crossed!

Hope you're having fun with the mortgage forms :D Whoop at possibly being mortgage neutral in 7 years, that would be fantastic!!

How were your blood sugar levels after food?? Hope it was as it should be.

Enjoy the last day of your staycation :)

Hi Poppy, blood sugar was fine, thanks for asking. Not sure what was causing the light-headedness.. maybe it was just one of those things. It's eased my mind about the diabetes now as I've been obsessing about it for a while! :D

I've filled in all the forms, written my cheque to open my Offset savings account and as soon as I can i'll register for online banking smiley-computer004.gif - it's exciting but not going quite as quickly as I want it to with my patience levels :rotfl:

OH took my out for breakfast this morning, he got paid for a gig last night so it was a free breakfast essentially :j

It made up for the fact the bath is still leaking  but only when OH is having a shower.. I've told him he'll have to stop washing and stink instead!!!

Things to do today to prepare for work :(
    - meal plan for dinners for the week
    - sort out work clothes
    - sort out lunches/breakfasts
    - ordered an online shop

    Also to do
    - put all the stuff back in the bathroom cabinet after cleaning it
    - clean the rest of the bathroom
    - Post Mortgage forms

    xx

In not so exciting news, I've just found out OH has a substantial amount outstanding on his credit card  so once the mortgage is sorted we need to get a 0% CC to transfer it too!

Don't know if you remember this post but we've (I've?) decided to pay off OH's credit card and he'll pay me back.. the mortgage people keep going on about it so I just decided to get rid of it. It'll save him paying interest on it and I will badger him to pay it off as quickly as possible  but it does mean my car loan has gone back up a bit..

The mortgage solicitors have now started with their requests for filling in forms and providing extra paperwork that we've already sent * big big sigh* it's very annoying and costly, for every day it drags on for it costs £7 extra in interest!

On the bright side, I accidently complained to YBS, not sure how, but they've sent me a cheque for £25 as an apology :rotfl: I only sent them a message to say please re-send an email because I can't get hold of you on the phone.

Might try complaining another 5840 times and my mortgage will be paid off! :j

We've never paid for a meter since our daughter was diagnosed Type 1 in 2008. We phone the manufacturers and they send them FOC.

    Pay Day Shuffle...

    Sept Monthly figures
    Outstanding Mortgage £145,768.36
    Family Loan £2,180 (OH's)
    Family Loan 2 - Car - £2,194.65
    Daily interest £21.58
    Emergency Savings - £10,000.00

Total Debt as present moment £140,143.01(+1,001.29):(

Debt back up again as I paid off OH's credit card.. he's promised he will make inroads into it before the end of the year!

I've had to move loads of money about this month for the mortgage so i'm getting a bit frustrated with remembering what's going on.. hopefully by next month's update everything will be sorted and all in one place.

I have been spending a bit today too :o I needed some flat shoes for work and ended up buying two pair of boots.. :rotfl: it makes sense to me ;) I blagged 10% off so saved £12..

Also trip to the butchers, so my purse is £80 lighter.. should do us until Xmas though :T

the re-mortgage has finally gone through this afternoon :T:T

Have spent the evening sorting out my spreadsheet :D and have our new numbers.. the only downside is that with the solicitors fees, mortgage fee and paying mortgage payments 3 times in 6 weeks:eek: our overall debt has gone up for now :(

    However, bright side:
    - daily interest has reduced to £14.30 (down £7.30ish):j
    - normal monthly pymt reduced by £100:j
    - already have £26.25 to overpay :j when I find out how
    - have already put some extra into my offset pot :T £50 Youg0v pymt
    - ISA is finished on Tuesday so i'll be able to put that plus interest gained into offset
    - we have loads of pennies to put in the bank for another overpayment
    - have £75 cheques to put into offset ac - one from a complaint to YBS and one for surveys

    So new starting point is....

    Outstanding Mortgage £147,463.60
    Family Loan £2,180 (OH's)
    Family Loan 2 - Car - £3,069.49
    Daily interest £14.30
    Offset pot - £10,000
New end date - Feb 2030

Total Debt as present moment £142,713.09

I'm so relieved that's it's done.. I've already rang customer services to find out payment dates, great customer service so far. Really quick to answer the phone, nice and polite and no automated "press 1 for this, press 2 for that" Only downside is they aren't open 24/7.. how rude :rotfl:
