Morning, (now afternoon
)
Money stuff from yesterday- bought a birthday card for my aunty and posted it - usually send them from moonpig in a last minute rush so £2 saved
- bought some artisan breads from a local baker £6  we went wandering and stumbled across the bakery so thought we'd try it - they were ok, nothing we couldn't have knocked up ourselves
- tried on a lovely dress, I've wanted it for ages and it was in the sale - however, it didn't quite look right so put it back
after the usual indecisive argument in my head!
- did some batch cooking - cottage pie, beef stew, meatballs, baked oatmeal - 20 portions in the freezer (all nice and neatly :rotfl:)
- £15 Amaz0n vouchers ordered from Sw*gbucks :j
- bought myself a cross-stitch kit last night £20 - haven't done one in years and just fancied it.. i'm not sure it'll ever get finished but it'll keep me out of mischief

I haven't done cross-stich for years.... probably about 40 years :rotfl:
I was given kit as a present as a child, and remember doing a bunch of flowers and a parrot. I'm not a very 'crafty' type of person, but I remember enjoying it a lot
Perhaps it's something I could take up again - I've made a note to myself about it. I've got into the habit of jotting things down, as I've got a memory like a sieve!
These days I'm very selective about clothes, and only buy when I'm sure something is 100% right. A few years ago, I'd have bought the dress in the sale, telling myself it's a bargain even though it's not quite right, and then never wear it. There'll be a better dress out there for you!
Have a good SundayEarly retired - 18th December 2014

Hi Goldie,
This is the one I picked, a Christmassy one - although it'll probably be Xmas 2020 by the time it's finished
 might be a bit complicated being the first one I've done in 15 years!!
It's from Ebay, thought it might be cheaper, but to be honest I didn't check anywhere elsemight be worth having a look when you get round to getting one.
I don't even remember where we used to get them before. I went to an embroidery show at the NEC once and got one from there (I was about 14 - I had an rebellious childhood didn't I!:rotfl:)Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.0 -
Evening.. well another pay day (OH's this time) means I get a lovely money shuffle to do :j
So :- paid off credit card
- some to family debt
- lots to car loan
- and a sneaky bit to premium bonds (you never know!):o
He thought he'd have to cancel his trip away and sort out a plumber man, but his brother came round, found the leak and has temporarily fixed it :T full fix will happen next week.. then we'll have to fix the hole in the ceilinganyone good at plastering?
Grocery budget update(shamefully bad at this!)
Monthly spend for Aug £223/£231
Year to date spend £2039/£3000 still £77 over where we need to be
Off to change sig..Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.0 -
I love the cross-stitch, although it might be a bit advanced for me - I think i'd need to start with pictures with big blocks of colours!
It's good that you got a temporary fix for the bathroom leak, hopefully it'll last for a while.Early retired - 18th December 2014

Well I managed to have a shower this morning without ending up with water on the kitchen floor so that's an achievement
Busy day today, with OH away I thought I'd do my normal jobs as well as some of the jobs we've been putting off...
Cleaned all the downstairs windows then applied the privacy film to the front ones, we now have front windows no one can see into and back ones where we can finally see outi'm ashamed to say they've not been cleaned for some time!!
I'm really enjoyed the privacy we have now in the front room, I didn't realise how much the people looking in was bothering me :T:T
Also had a few survey pay outs this weekend- £50 reached on y0ugov account
- £50 reached on sister's y0ugov account (she couldn't be bothered with it anymore so need to close it) - will be getting £25 share
- ips0s £10
- VO £10 - nearly at the next one too, they've had some good surveys the last few days £3 each :T
- swagb*cks £15 has come through - need to decide whether to carry on with it
hope everyone's having a lovely weekend xxMortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.0 -
We'll done on getting to £50 on YouGov
I've found that VO and Ipsos are the ones that aren't so good for me, I virtually never have any surveys given to me that I actually qualify for. If I ever get to a payout, I will take the money and then close my account.
I think I must be the wrong profile for them
I've not tried the Swag thing. I looked at the thread on hear about it, and it all seemed a bit complicated and I didn't really fancy itEarly retired - 18th December 2014

Evening.. been a bit AWOL as it's our busy week at work, but I've only got tomorrow morning to go and then we're on staycation for a week :j:j:j:j
Goldie - I think the surveys work better if you have school age kids, that's the questions they keep asking at the moment... never mind we'll get there with the payouts
Staycation involves lots of jobs unfortunately..- gutters replaced
- bush trimming
- grass cutting
- garden gravelling
- cleaning upstairs windows
- sorting the bath out (still leaking )
- replacing the kitchen ceiling
- boiler needs servicing
- upholstery in my car needs a good clean
- and anything else I can add to the list...
In good news, after ringing and using my stern voice with the new mortgage people, they have informed me that the paperwork is with the underwriters and the loan paperwork should be with us to sign next week :T:T (although I haven't had any of my original documents back yet, so i'll celebrate when it actually arrives!)
