Ooo, free food. Sod the exercise when there's free creme eggs. On the exercise front, you are doing a lot better than me. I've only managed to do 26 miles since the beginning of the month. Which is not bad considering I've been recovering from an operation.

Using your Xbox is great. If you already have it then it's MSE.

Do you make a profit from the cakes?

    Hi Peonie,

Not really.. I usually do them for presents or just get people to pay for the ingredients etc.. I did look into doing it as a side business but I wasn't comfortable charging loads of money and also i'm inherently lazy :rotfl:I just do it as a hobby now and haven't had many at all to do since Xmas.

The one i'm doing next week has actually cost me money as I've had to buy expensive tins, however, i'll always have them so I don't mind.

Well done on the exercise.. hope you're fully recovered now! x

After checking my bank I've realised that the mortgage company haven't taken my overpayment this month (£123) therefore, I need to give them a ring next week and get them to change the direct debit again

So the actual updated figures are below:

    June Monthly figures
    Outstanding Mortgage £158,362.23
Family Loan £4,850 (OH will pay this each month)
    Daily interest £17.35
    Offset Savings £11,148.04

Total Debt as present moment £152,064.19(-1,099.78)

We're a bit short of available cash this month (everything's tied up in savings accounts!) so it will help out a bit having an extra £123 to use.

In good news, I popped to the local supermarket at just the right time the other night and picked up loads of yellow stickered meat and fish - I wasn't sure of the etiquette of picking up reduced items so I just took one of each of the items there instead of clearing the shelves :rotfl: think I managed to get £30 worth of stuff for <£10 :T

Hope the rain isn't too bad for everyone - I've had to put the lights and heating on today!

With the yellow stickered food I considered will I eat it before it goes out of date, is it a good discount (sometimes it's not) and do I have enough room in the freezer. Sometimes I consider, is it healthy? If I answer yes to those questions, I get it.

Wow that's one busy week over and done with now onto a relaxing weekend with another busy work week ahead of me!

Some very good news this week, OH has had a stonking payrise which he's everso proud about and quite rightly so, it's always nice to know that you're well thought of in your job.. :T (i'm going to leave it a few months before I start hinting about upping the mortgage OP's :rotfl:)

We went out to celebrate - without any vouchers:eek: - but still only picked the 2 courses for £10 menu! :rotfl:

    In other news :
    • the pesky slugs have eaten my lettuce  so I've moved it indoors and re-seeded
    • spent £27 at the H0mebase on paint to brighten up the garage gym, seeds and weedkiller
    • found some lawn food (£30 worth) that the previous owners left so fed the lawn for free
    • priced up kitchen tiles - £60, so pretty cheap, I usually pick the most expensive by accident so OH was dreading it :D
    • completed 2 cakes - put the money straight into the bank to cover all the costs, instead of spending the cash and wondering where all my money has gone!
    • no more cakes to do :j I was proper fed up with them this week, I shall be saying "no" a lot more to people from now on
    • free Fl0ra trial applied for
    • all surveys done - still a way off from any payouts :(
    • £3.54 TT
    • washing drying on the line
Off to make OH a cuppa, he started painting as soon as we got back from the DIY shop and that was hours ago..

    have a good weekend xx

So I had a few bad work days at the start of the week, which resulted in a few angry exchanges with my boss and a few sleep-ness nights :( I'm not a confrontational person but I feel like I've been pushed to it the last few weeks and that upset me quite a lot. I was in the process of deciding whether or not to go and ask for a transfer to a different dept, however...

...fast forward to yesterday, boss is moving on and leaving us with another boss who seems a bit more professional!!:T Good for us and actually good for old boss, as he is now in a new role that will suit him better.

I do feel a little guilty re: the angry exchanges but the combination of tight deadlines, his work attitude, stress and hormones just made it impossible to keep it in! I literally was like this

    Anyway onto more fun things..
    • rang the mortgage peeps and upped my direct debit again - so OP of £123 as standard each month
    • no big grocery shop this week - just £10 for fruit/milk from the farm shop
    • all surveys complete - still no payouts :(
    • strawberries eaten from the garden - 5
    • bathroom and kitchen cleaned so no need to do at the weekend:T
    • Shuffled £5 Ha1ifax reward and £7.32 Nati0nwide int to savings
    • free strawberries and cream at work
    • treated me and OH to a spa day £118 - going mid week saves us £10 each though
    • Owe OH £30 for tiles
    • D0mino's for tea Tues £20 - I blame the stress!
    • bought a shelving unit (£30) for storing cake tins(will need another for other cake stuff) however this gets it all in order:T
Tea is cooking (jacket potato, roasted BNS and feta salad ) so I haven't got to anything else tonight but relaaaaxxxx :T

    Have a good one xx

Well done confronting your boss. I don't like it either but sometimes it has to be done.
