    How's the exercise going?

    Hey Peonie,

It's not going as well as I'd hoped.. I've done about 15 workouts so I really need to step it up - costs have worked out at £26/workout :o

OH has started using the treadmill this week too, so I still think it was worth buying if it encourages him to stop paying for the gym - he's still in "i'm considering it" mode.

Now you've asked, I'm going to feel too guilty if I don't do a workout tomorrow! :rotfl:

I had a good month this month due to overtime payments being quite high...We were also very lucky to get an annual bonus, although i'm only on the lower band so an extra couple of hundred rather than thousands like the senior staff, but in this economy we're very lucky to get one at all so very grateful!

Money savings this week have included :
    • quidc0's new cashback grocery thing - £2.80
    • another searchlott0 win - £1 this time (no flump!)
    • £10 voucher mysurveys
    • sending OH to the grocer man at his work(don't have to visit the supermarket)
    • bought a few reduced food items when I popped in for milk at the local co-op
    • didn't have puddings at MIL's birthday meal (saving £10)
    • no main grocery shop done this wk and none planned for next week so far (although I do need a few cake ingredients as making crème egg easter cupcakes for work colleagues)
    Unnecessary spending
    • New boots :o:whistle:
Sorry that's turned into quite a long post! Apologies for the waffle xxx

Hello from the snowy West Midlands! I didn't know it was supposed to snow by us until last night.. i'm shocked at how much we've got and it's still coming!! :snow_grin

I've had a bit of a housebound day because of the snow (I don't drive in it at all if I can help it) but the house is sparkly, I've made fresh bread, the homemade granola is done and the tea is nearly ready so I've had a productive day at least.

I think my sister is coming to stay this weekend, so it may be a bit spendy but I did promise to take the family out for a meal using my bonus money.. I just didn't tell them it was to the sainsburys caf! and hopefully I can use vouchers :rotfl:

Keep safe and warm everyone xx

A no spend weekend for us, the sister went back home before the snow hit so we didn't end up going out for dinner/have to go out shopping..

It's given OH and I time to chat this weekend and we realised that we are a little bit anti-social and a bit stay-at-home so we're going to make a conscious effort to get out and about a bit more.. it's been really easy to fall into a routine of coming home and watching tv so we need to change it up a bit! It will end up costing us money at times, but life is for living and all that..

This weekend, instead of sitting in the house, we took a 3.5 mile walk to see my dad... it was really fun in the snow - OH fell over which I found highly amusing, then I was laughing so much that I fell over!!:rotfl:OH also cleared the drive of snow (we've had a good 6-7 inches) and also popped round next door and cleared their driveway.. I would have helped but I had to make dinner

This weeks activity will either be dinner out or the cinema..:Thaven't been to the cinema in yonks!

Hope everyone has a good start to the week, hopefully the pesky snow will melt soon xx

Hi everyone.. been AWOL for a bit, i'm not sure where the week has gone!

It's trying to snow again here this weekend and we've still got a couple of inches lingering about (although the roads are clear thankfully).. but i'm sat here under my blanket, watching the Big Reunion with the little black and white fella snuggled up on my legs so i'm happy as Larry.

OH has been paid so he's given me his half of the bills - credit card is now paid off, regular saver will be topped up, premium bonds bought and any remaining will be popped into the loan repymt pot.:j

    Money Saving this week:
    • Overtime at work = 8 hours
    • Free Netflix trial for one month
    • £1.12 won on free lottery tickets with Searchlott0
    • free hot cross buns at work:o
    • free pakoras at work :o
    • free easter sweets at work :o
    • got £30 of vouchers this week from surveys
    Money spends:
    • went out on Thursday evening - £20
    • MIL's birthday present
    • I've bought OH some easter pressies (don't usually do this so it'll be a nice surprise - but Honey Jack Daniels = £20!)
    • bought some sweets/chocs and made my friend at work a chocolate bouquet = <£5
I'm working again on Monday :( but we get a good deal due to it being a bank holiday so can't complain too much, however, i'm expecting it to be a very long day 12-14 hours - positive thing is it'll take me about 10 mins to get to work with the lack of traffic! :j

Have a good Easter all xxxx

While you have Netfl1cks make sure you watch House of Cards. We enjoyed it and you can only watch it on there.

Thanks for the recommendation - i'm watching Hex at the moment so once I've finished that I'll have a go at House of Cards.

I've decided not to subscribe as most of the films and TV series on there we've watched at some point in the last few years (we're tele-addicts!) so it's not worth the money for us.

The exercise is ok :( still not enjoying it.. I don't get the people who say they love going to the gym, they must be mental :rotfl:that reminds me, I must check if OH has cancelled his membership.

Good Afternoon, i'm finally done after a knackering week at work - overtime total of 15+ hours.. At least I've managed to duck out on time today (we finish at 12 :j) so I can get a nice peaceful afternoon to myself catching up on tv and diaries!

In good news, I've managed to reach payout on Youg0v and Newv1sta which means £100 winging its way to me in the next few months. These will go straight to the savings pot...

In bad news, i'm still waiting for my Nati0nwide stuff to come so I can go onto internet banking and transfer some money around. I've received everything else, so it's a bit frustrating!

To do list for this weekend :
    • [STRIKE]tidy out the rest of garage[/STRIKE] (already got rid of freezer and sofa that were in there)
    • move treadmill into tidy garage
    • fetch crosstrainer
    • re-rearrange the dining room now the treadmill's out the way
    • sort out new electricity tariff - my fix ends in may
    • [STRIKE]spring clean one room in the house[/STRIKE] (decluttering and tidying drawers)
E.t.a. more to the list (of things I've managed to do ;))
    • [STRIKE]order new tax disc[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]renew RAC with clubcard points[/STRIKE]
    • [STRIKE]Arrange to visit the sister[/STRIKE]
Hope it's sunny where you are - it's so lovely seeing the sun again! :cool2:

oopps forgot to transfer my Hal1fax reward amount to savings until reading Tilly's diary - thanks for the reminder!

That left 2.27p in the account so I also transferred the 27p.. total owed to family now only £6435.84...

It's been a beautiful day here today, so we've cleared the garage out ready for the gym makeover, just need to order some foam matting so we don't hurt ourselves on the concrete floor and we're done.

I've also ran 3.5 miles (thanks Peonie :D) and tidied out one of the spare rooms - we'll not talk about the dust :o

No money spent today, although I've ordered some bits from a friend who has started her own business, which I will have to pay for next week - £10 ish.

    xx
