Say what! People invite themselves to your house as a date?

Yep, not sure what other single mums are like out there, but I just wouldn't take the chance!
Be who you are, say what you feel, those who mind don't matter, those who matter don't mind.
They say that talking to yourself is a sign of mental illness. So I talk to the cats instead.

I can't even get my head around that. Inviting someone to your own house seems like a bad idea for a first date to me, never mind asking to visit the other persons house for the first meeting!

    Heard back from him Messedup?

MissMontana, I'm a single parent, and no, I wouldn't be inviting someone I didn't know round whilst my child was here - actually, if i was a "date" situation, I'd not be doing it if I was childless

    That is weeeeeeeeeird.
  • I know, this is why I wonder if some people actually do invite complete strangers into their homes in a dating scenario...

  • Hi All

    Long time no post here

    So updates from me

Started talking to one, girl, then like a bus another came along as well.

Both went abit quiet, then started talking again.

Girl one- Has now gone weird- sends some strange messages, and in one of them actually said, she and her daughter were both very very ill- long time- with something or other, I can't remember now. So I've backed off cause I'm not sure if she is in the right place to do dating, plus she seems to skip answering the question when I asked would she like to get a coffee sometime.

Girl two- again seemed fine, but then seemed to just disappear , then re appear, then dis appear. Not gone weird, but doesn't seem very chatty at all (even though her profile does say she loves to chat and talk in any form)

    Both POF.

OKCupid- 0 responses from those who I have something in commen with, and it does seem to be the same old faces

Oasis- Still loads of bounce backs, and requests from Russian and Nigerian 'girls' to talk 'as they find me attractive'

    Real World-
Really nice girl at work, however its a work colleague and thats were it stops- don't mess in your yard etc etc
Actually had the nerve to ask a girl for her number while a jazz session tonight, very pretty bar maid, totally not my type, didn't get the number but hey I actually asked a girl for her number- doesn't sound like alot, but its a huge forward step for someone who normally gets very shy around girls.

Good luck to anyone still trying. Oh and messedup- Chin up lass, plenty more fish in the sea- you'll meet some flounders before you get your tuna
  • I've been pretty quiet on here lately, I am talking to people but they're all back home whereas I'm currently in my university city for the next 2 weeks so meet ups are having to wait at the moment! Being on dating sites has confirmed my suspicion that there aren't many eligible men down here as the searches come up with barely any! I don't really want to get involved with someone in my university city either as I have no long term plans to stay here once uni is finished.

I wish i was as confident in asking someone out. I dont like dating people from work either. Its not a good thing.

  • I have to be honest, I'm not normally.

But for some reason I just did, I have lost about 6 pounds which feels really good- its not masses like overs talk about, but its a start and I just seem to be becoming more and more confident.

    Its strangely good.
