  • Jenny, I'd text him. For all you know he's spent all day watching his phone and waiting for you to text, because he doesn't want to pressure you or make you feel uncomfortable by texting first. Blokes have no more idea than us girls when it comes to this kind of thing and you could end up with both of you not texting for fear of offending the other. Just say thanks for meeting me last night, I had a lovely time. That way he knows you enjoyed yourself and the door is open for him to suggest another date. Poor bloke's probably just as shy as you and may be thinking you haven't texted because you don't want to see him again. Don't leave him trying to guess what to do next, give him a clue!

I texted him and he does want to meet again - though there was a slight lack of enthusiasm in his text! I think there is an ex in the background!
Trying to stay positive but it's so hard!
    Thanks for the encouragement!

Yay, that's great! It's really hard to be enthuastic in a text message. Just relax, see him again and see how it goes!

Hey folks how are we all

See there has been some, interesting, notes on here.

Glad your date went well Jenny, and good on you for sending the message.

Well I'm trying to stay off pof still, managed a few days so far.

    Hope everyone is going well
  • Glad it's going well Jenny, don't read too much into the text. It's hard to convey emotion in texts and you probably don't know him well enough yet to be able to to know exactly what he was trying to say. Most people have an ex in the background.... Wait and see how the next date goes before thinking too much about it.
  • I agree, its very easy to miss interpret things over text. He might just want to not appear too keen even though he's secretly dancing around his kitchen that you sent him a text or he just might not be a big texter...I wouldn't read too much in to it :)

I just had a message from someone on POF informing me that they MIGHT be interested in me and that I should message him to tell him more about myself to see if I have a chance with him *rolls eyes*
Knock me down I'll get right back up again, I'll come back stronger than a powered up Pac-Man

    OMG how rude!!!

I would seriously have to send a sarcastic message back and then block him before he can reply..... but that's the kind of mood I'm in tonight!

    Thank you - I know.
He has now texted and we are meeting on Thursday! Hurrah!
And I have a date with someone on Wednesday who seems nice and another on Monday with another guy!
This internet dating thing is SUCH a roller coaster ride though. It's frightening how yesterday I was all anxious because of Sunday's date and today I'm all excited about the dates lined up. I wish I could find a way of doing it and staying balanced! Perhaps I need therapy - strangely enough, tomorrow's guy IS a therapist!

That's awful! What did you do in the end? I think something similar happened to me once and I could think of a suitably intelligent and sarcastic reply! I wish I could remember what that message said - but it was years ago!

    OMG so rude!!!
Message back saying "when you have decided if you are, or are not interested in me, let me know and I MIGHT tell you more about myself" :)

Can I ask what you all do if the person you are on a date with isn’t what you hoped for?! Do you cut the date short (and if you do what do you say?!) or do you see out the rest of the date and then not message/text them unless they message you then reply with a nice let down?!
