I've gone back on POF after a few rubbish months, I did get chatting to a few people and nearly had a date, but I figured one of the only things I had going for me was my dog and she died. :( I guess I could lie and say I'm into kite surfing or I could get another pet?

Anyhow...would anyone be willing to offer me some constructive criticism on my profile?

Bazey if you go into the forums at PoF you'll see a profile reviews section there.

POF is the only one i've tried, met one woman on there had a realationship for ten months then it all went pear shaped, went back on in nov, starting chatting to someone we were on the phone for hrs every night & finally met up on sat & had another date on sun, then got a text yesterday saying i wasn't what she wanted or needed, we had a fantastic time over the weekend (both of us, i think the way she kissed me on sun gave me a clue), i'm beginning to think i don't understand woman at all, if i ever did, really gutted cause she was really pretty
I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.

What is your user name on pof? Sorry to hear about your dog.

Am currently on Match and have had a few dates, but nothing which has led anywhere, and now I have pretty much "exhausted" the local pool of talent (I live in a rural area and will travel up to 20 miles).

So, after always saying I wouldn't do POF (as much my ex met many of his encounters on there) I now think I might give it a go, as it has much higher "coverage" round here.

A free site just seems so public though. I don't want my friends, or even worse my teenage childrens' friends, to see me on there. No way round that I suppose.

Sorry it didn't work out for you. I was struck by your last comment... do you value women soley on their looks? Don't get me wrong, looks play a part...

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

You can make your profile private so you have to contact people and they can't find you by searching, only if you make contact with them.

I have quite a high profile job so didn't want lots of people knowing I was on pof so put a fairly blurry photo on my main pic and sent other pics to people I was chatting to. Nobody I spoke to or met up with minded the soft focus main pic that I achieved by taking a self portrait with my phone with a dirty screen- genius lol!

no not at all, tbh when i first sent her a message i didn't think she would reply because i thought she was out of my league, i agree looks aren't the be all & end all, but it would have been nice to have a pretty lady on my arm & we did seem to have alot in common.

any ladies wanna have a look on POF & tell me how i could improve things (or even if you want to say take your pic off cause you will have a better chance lol) feel free my nick on there is Cheekychappy49

Your profile looks fine and reads well. If I am going to be picky it would be to change the way you wrote about your last experiences on POF. My immediate suspicious thoughts were that your last experience ended for a negative reason.

If you said something about having a positive experience but she wasn't 'the one' for you and you are now back again looking for the woman of your dreams (but say it less cheesily - its too early in the morning for me to come up with great words!).

Your profile is similar to the one that hooked me in on POF and I am now happily settled with a great guy who showed his fun side on there without trotting out loads of cliches about log fires and all that rubbish.

thanx ali, it was difficult to put a positive experience when i caught her driving my car to spend the night with a "old friend" when she was suppose to be spending the night 60 miles in the other direction & continued to lie to me & her daughter about where she spent the night, until i told her i knew exactly where she was because my car has a gps tracker, so that was it for me
