Hi Ford, Thats what I thought about the meet up group near me. Not much chance of meeting anyone for a relationship but at least they were a nice group of people who I can go out with and get to know.

If the one in your area is anything like the North Manchester one they will be mostly women so you might be mobbed !

    Thanks ceecee1. :rotfl:

Actually, as I'm in Lancashire... there may even be an 'overlap' with North Manchester... I'll have to check!

Anyway, to be honest, I feel worse than when I started! I sent a couple of 'nice' emails, but had no reply... and despite thinking that I'm a reasonable looking guy, I've not had that many people look at my profile! Maybe I should stay off dating websites, as it could eventually drive you to drink or worse! :(

It really use to get me down when i'd taken the time to read a womans profile and then write a proper message to suit it, not some copy & paste thing, and then not get even a thanks-but-no-thanks. I'd end up staring into the mirror thinking 'Are you that bad' But if you go into the forums in PoF you'll see it's one of the things that comes up over and over again, with both men and women complaining about the quality and lack of messages, So now i know it's not just me i feel better.

Away from the dating sites though, i've just been watching Emmerdale ......... bloody hell if Sam can cop-off what the hell am i doing wrong.
Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,

First paragraph.... Just the way I felt! Thanks for making me feel a little better at least, now I know that many others are suffering the same fate.

Second paragraph.... love it SS! :rotfl:

    Many thanks

:T It's so nice to know that its not just me that feels that way...its the men as well. :T

You send a contact request to someone you think you might get on with, get a tingle of anticipation, and nothing..... I finish up thinking to myself...surely I'm not that ugly !! I always thought I was alright, not drop dead gorgeous but alright

Definitely not just the men who get ignored.

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

I just logged on to Smooch. It says that, no further people have viewed my profile.

However, I used "search for a member" to search for my own profile... and when it came up I opened the page. There on the right hand side it says "users who liked this member *****, also liked.." It went on to list 10 other members.

Great... except according to the info I can see, I've had views, but no darned likes!
It's easy to see why some people give up! (Well... on smooch at least... and I worry that I've not heard glowing reports about any sites, paid or free!)

OK maybe this post (now deleted) was a bit waffly, but no one replied. I've been ignored / rejected and havn't even started dating yet....)-: Thanks for the reminder about stranger danger!

Even if I'm on the shopping threads, it doesn't mean I'm buying! Sometimes it's good to just look and then hit the CLOSE button!

I've bitten the bullet and signed up to Match. I will let you know how I get on with Quidco for cashback.

Thet have send me a link for an offer of £38.97 for 6 months.

Is that a good price? Seems it.
