I've pretty much decided I can't be bothered with online dating and all the rejection and hassle it brings with it although I'm toying with joining a 'penpal' site as I thought that might ease me in more gently...and get to know someone sloooooowly.

Gonna keep busy with getting my house repairs done this year instead...:o so if I do start dating I'll be looking at 'occupation' before anything else on the profiles, hee hee.

the photo is not great and that is no reflection of what you look like. Self portraits arent ever a good idea on dating sites. Get a couple more on there of you doing interesting things.

We know you are a man who is 5'5 - its on your profile already. Why mention it again?

You mention "Peep show" twice in your very short profile. Fair enough that you like it but thats excessive.

You need to show your viewers more about what makes you tick.

You like movies? You would be a very rare creature indeed if you didn't. So how about expanding this to say something like "I enjoy film noire at my local independant cinema. Its not so much fun going on my own but I still love it" or "I love films, especially Quentin Tarrantino and Disney. I am happy to explore other genres too though" Basically tell the reader a bit more.

You mention three times that you looking for love. You only need to say this once, if at all. Otherwise you come across as desperate, or insincere.
