So who wants to do me?

I meant give me feedback on my profile you dirty bug**rs! :-P

Your profile looks pretty good to me. Although I'm a bloke who shares your love of running, travel and triathlons, so you may want to wait for the women folk to give more critical feedback.

Some might suggest a couple of better head-shots than the on top of mountain type pictures.

Is it my cynical nature or is it just coincidence that men are suddenly contacting me just as my membership is about to come to an end? :p

I would just appreciate any contact!! Even on POF I have had one or two after 2 weeks...

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

I use plentyoffish and smooch, i met one guy off plentyoffish had five dates, then he turned on me. He was an only child grew up in well to do family, went to boarding school, was married 25 years and wife left him for another man. He was a gardener self employed, a cat and no kids. Father died when very young. He promised to take me day out in the lakes then backed out because he didnt want to leave his cat and didnt want to drive all that way. there's me making him nice teas (he didnt like travelling 25 miles to my house),and even though the first dates he made an effort.took me for a meal, he began to want me at his house all the time rather than going for enjoyable days out, asked about my finances, he didnt understand why women had to work full time. The tea he made me was an onion bahji topped with burnt seaweed. My teas were properly cooked as I love treating my man. I made an effort and made some nice pasta dishes and curries that were healthy.

Anyway when he couldnt be bothered to pick me up on way to lakes, (he wanted me to drive 3/4 to his house) he then called me a chauvinist pig, huge inflated ego (because i am confident),cruel to cats (because i work and leave them sleeping at home) and a skinflint golddigger because I hadnt bought him a coffee yet. He believes in women doing as they are told and not working. Said he couldnt keep up with my hectic life, which is going to work and coming home and spending some weekends with my daughter.

Needless to say few days later after telling him its over he then said he was missing me then when I said no, he went nasty again.
Then he sent me pics of his day out as if like a child to try and make me envious for some reason.

Anyway had to warn him of harrassment.

Ive looked at the paying sites and they dont let you pay monthly so I said no to that.

    Haha, I like it

How do you guys deal with letting people down?! As I'm pretty sure I screwed it up!

I met someone on a dating website and even though my profile did say 'for friends' I figured if it developed into more then it does, and I'm not lying that way. Shockingly this person works in the same office as me (there's two and they're in the opposite one across the road) so I walk over one breaktime and introduce myself.
Then a few nights ago I was out with my friends, drunk and they were hinting on to come out, I said oh just come (as I was so drunk), then my friends had to tell her I'm not over my ex (which is mostly true although I am trying!) and in the end she went home, but I was nice and said I always just wanted friends and I'm sorry if I gave you the wrong impression. I'm convinced I didn't though! I thought she just wanted to be friends too.

Now I feel like a horrid person as I haven't made any attempt to talk to her since, apart from a few messages I did reply to, but it's better to just cut off contact rather than leave it lingering isn't it? I feel so evil for how I've behaved!

I'm still on POF. Don't know if my profile is too wordy. I am also not sure if I should refresh my profile picture, but I don't like many photos of me as I would deem myself un-photogenic.

Barny, did you rearrange? If so, how did it go?

I hate cancelling, I've been on a few dates over the last year and never cancelled even if something came up for fear that they'd think I was chickening out! I had to cancel one recently though as I was ill and I felt so bad :(

I personally wouldn't completely cut off ties, but only reply if they contact you (don't instigate a conversation) and don't be eager in your replies.

Do you still want to just be friends? If so, you could make it very clear to her (I'd much more appreciate that and actually gain a friend in the long term)
