Polish men are adorable too, I had a serious crush on one at work many years ago....he was of course happily married! He used to tell me all the romantic things he would do for her and I was soooo jealous, as I had a rubbish BF at the time!

POF is known as that throughout the world I think but it is possible to control the meatmarket aspect of it and still find some nice ones.

Your encouragement has been grand & when my membership of my current site is up (& the date is on my calendar in big red print) then I promise I will consider POF & hide my profile so I shouldn't get too many odd messages.

It is good to hear of success stories on there, so I'm probably being too dismissive of it.

I've cancelled my account on POF and told this lovely man I didn't want to meet or date anyone else. His reply this morning has confirmed my suspicion that he only wants a friendship with me.

3 years on POF is a long time.

Two guys never turned up for dates without any explanation.

I've met two others, this current one and another guy who seems to think so long as he messages me from time to time to say he wishes he was with me makes up for the fact that he hasn't seen me at all this year and our dates last year were 9 months apart.

But at least I have gained a friend.

Well WOW!! im glad i let number one and number two guys go because guy number three is mmmm nice.... Ive seen him every day practically since the 7th Oct and we get on really well. Ive been taken to the pics, and on shopping dates and ive even met 2 of his children. He seems very keen and me being me i am very wary as it all new atm. Were spending the weekend together tomorrow. He likes shopping and hates footy. Seems to good to be true atm.

Aww dont take yourself off the site, try another site if you do. I was seriously about to give up completely but im glad i didnt. Edit to day i wish i had come off the site earlier. The guy i met was a total looser and a user. Sponger comes to mind. Im off the sites now and just enjoying my uncomplicated, single life without the hastle.

Sorry to hear that Barny. I've not had much success, but someone said to me recently that the reason the things haven't worked out is that there is someone there for me who I haven't met yet. I think 10 years is really taking the ****

I have already deleted myself from POF - the guy I met had already taken himself off so I thought by taking myself off there he would realise that I am serious about him and not looking for anyone else.

But the reason he took himself off was because he said he had had too many disasters on there of it and was just looking for friendship from now on
