No, somehow I didn't think you did ;) In which case it is someone you've known/know of for a while and that's why you're so happy you've finally got together (so to speak) I have been following, and get it even if some don't

    ;):D

:) Thanks! I am hoping to spend a weekend with them sometime soon.
:j Met my husband to be on plenty of fish. 6 happy years on ignore cynics ;)))) :T

:T Good to hear! It is a good site you just have to take most people with a pinch of salt.
There's a fair bit of exaggeration, I like tall men, but I'm only little so that's not hard. My friend however is 5ft8 and then some if she wears heels, she put on her profile "must be taller than me" amazing how short 6ft is these days!

I'm above average height for a male. Average is 5 ft 9" and I'm 5ft 9 1/2". It makes all the difference! :rotfl:

hi can I join you fellow internet daters? I've only just started this.
I've finally read this whole thread and caught up, Im on POF and OKCupid (joined those today) and Oasis (where i had one date)
I have to say girlybags if i was a man i'd message you, i love Buffy but i'm also a single mum with red hair so it's not gonna work lol.
Well my date from the oasis man went well, met for coffee then we decided to extend the date; walked holding my hand along the beach, went to art gallery (which we both found boring) had pizza and sat talking for hours. really nice day until ten mins before we were going home, he said he can't do the children thing (i have two, which he knew before he met me), seen him once since then now we don't talk at all. There's plenty more out there, I think?????

Lol, probably wouldn't work, no ;)

There are plenty of guys out there who love kids so just keep looking! My bit of young (:D) is still messaging me, it's been keeping a smile on my face today anyway :p

One prime example of a man who loves himself just got in touch: http://www.pof.com/viewprofile.aspx?profile_id=34758165

His message was that he would like to make me his girlfriend so he could *ahem* all over my face.
Does that sort of thing EVER work on women?!

As for the replying thing, I don't do that any more, if I politely say they're not my type, they usually ask why, and if I tell them, for example it's because they're 5ft2 and I'm 5ft9, 6ft2 in my favourite heels... that has on several occasions lead to a torrent of abuse such as 'You're ugly anyway, only messaged cause I felt sorry for you *insert personal insults about my appearance here*'
My profile if anyone fancies a nosey: http://www.pof.com/viewprofile.aspx?profile_id=21267888

Tend to keep my personal bit short and sweet because, according to a few males friends, guys my age (19) don't have the attention span to read much more, and they'll already have judged me by my pictures anyway!

Can I just say that you're really pretty but your third pic is quite suggestive looking and numpties may interpret it in the way that they can behave in a lewd and suggestive way towards you  I don't mean that in a horrible or nasty way, just a bit of advice :)

Haha. Oh I know, but I put it on because my male friends always complain of there being lots of 'SIFs' on there, which are basically women who look really pretty online in their headshots, but then you meet them in RL and they're HUGE (I have nothing against larger people, but I do think it's kind of unfair to not fully let a date see what they're getting into beforehand! That might just be the shallow young person in me though), so it stands for 'Secret internet fatty'. So a lot of males (and this is my age range so I suppose we have different priorities with what we look for in a partner while we're young) would prefer to see a full body shot, and that's the one that makes me look the best and the one I feel most confident with :) I'm fully clothed and I think the main reason it looks 'suggestive' is because I'm curvy, whereas if I was straight up and down, people wouldn't generally bat an eyelid at it, which I suppose is more down to society rather than dating sites, but there we go! I know you didn't mean it horribly by the way, it's just a topic in general that always makes me get a rant on.

Anyway, I might as well talk about my 2 dates I have had, while I'm posting. First one was with someone I knew when I was 14, but lost contact with a couple of years ago, we got back in contact through POF and went for a few drinks. It went really well and we got on brilliantly, but there was never a second date because although we tried to arrange it, we both had too much going on in our lives at the time.
Second date wasn't really my type, but he seemed nice so I thought I'd give him a chance. Went out for something to eat but there was no chemistry between us at all, the date was really awkward and then after he seemed a bit put out and surprised when I didn't let him come back to mine! Cheeky so and so!

See he has a pic with his top off hes missing a trick there why no pic of his car isnt that also supposed to impress a girl?

As for his message jeez like you said thats never going to work especially as it says in your profile you are looking for someone to respect you yeah much respect fella..maybe in his world
I have a huge hunch that most of the guys with pictures with nice cars don't actually own them... the picture always seem to be in showrooms or public car parks ;)

Glad you didn't take it the wrong way :)

One of my friends irl who is on PoF has her body type down as 'average' - she's definitely not though  I just wonder why people would lie about that because it's not like you can hide your body shape when you meet someone in person so they're either going to not fancy you or be p***ed that you lied about it!

I don't have any full length pics of myself or I'd have put one on - I'm honestly not a 'sif' though :rotfl:;)

My ex told me that someone he knows is on PoF and has a pic of himself standing next to a helicopter as if it's his :rotfl::rotfl:

Oh dear, it's not like there aren't people out there who go for larger ladies though, I've seen a few profiles of people seeking a 'BBW' partner! But then, according to my mum there are quite a lot of men using pictures from 15 years ago, or at least from the time when they had hair and their own teeth! So I suppose it goes both ways.

Oh and the helicopter :rotfl: they don't seem to realise that if a girl is attracted to the material things they pose with, she probably won't be the type of lady who loves him for him!
