I think it all depends what they have put to be honest – if they have just put hi then I don’t bother but if they have actually read your profile and took time to write a decent message then I just write one back saying ‘thanks for the message but I don’t think you are my type’

To not reply just seems rude to me – Im not rude or ignorant in real life so im not going to hide behind a computer screen and do it!

It's a difficult one. I chat to a few that I'm not really interested in, but didn't want to be rude, now they're starting to get to the stage where they are hinting at meeting up. I have already just told one guy I was happy chatting but didn't really think we were suited and got a bit of abuse telling me not to flatter myself etc, and this after asking me out for a drink and sending me one of those roses :o

I do understand what you're saying about not hiding behind a screen, but you're really just leading someone on as well tbh. Would be interested in others views :) Oh and btw it works both ways, sometimes I'm quite happy chatting away with someone then they just ignore me and I never hear from them again! lol I'm learning to toughen up too :D

    Update: Dis gurl iZ amaZinG!

We're talking / texting every day (I've used up my monthly allowance in a week!)

She's truly incredible - I just wish she'd believe me (she doesn't think she is) :(... I mean she truly has the most beautiful face & smile I have ever seen (no word of a lie)

She lives miles away (Scotland) but I canny wait to meet her (hopefully will in next two weeks)

I know some may say "that's far, too difficult" but... it only has to work once doesn't it? :)

    *Very happy man here*

see, I dont go on the sites just to chat with them - if I dont fancy them I'll send my thanks but no thanks reply.

I wont strike up a friendly chat with with someone I have no interest in as its just wasting my time and theirs.

I'm not rude either but you will soon realise why it is easier not to reply when you're polite and get a barrage of abuse or someone who thinks you really are interested and doesn't give up.

I'd rather no reply than to see a new message telling me 'no chance'
  • Has anyone else noticed how most of the men on dating sites (ok, Match anyway!) are really tall??! Is this a coincidence or have I just not noticed how tall men are in general?! Or is there possibly some exaggeration going on (o:

Yeah it seems rude to me too, I hate ignorant people in real life but there again if I messaged someone on Pof and they didn't reply I don't think I'd be losing any sleep over it :p Think I'd rather have my feelings spared ;)
