    Haha! It makes me wonder, do they really expect a positive response??? I've just been ignoring them but I don't know if it's proper etiquette to at least reply with a 'no'?

    You get the 'married, but looking for sex' ones too. I just say thanks for your honesty, but not interested in that type of relationship. Good luck finding what you're looking for anyway. :D

    lol @ girlybags, call his bluff and ask him if he can be there in half an hour!!!
    Be who you are, say what you feel, those who mind don't matter, those who matter don't mind.
    They say that talking to yourself is a sign of mental illness. So I talk to the cats instead.

    you never have to sleep with them the first night (and plenty will ask who don[t want to see you again anyway)

    if you did fancy him, then at least show you do with a nice kiss goodbye/snog if appropriate. Shows you are at least interested in him and not a total prude.
  • @missmontana - lol!

    @girlybags - he sounds charming!!

    I'm slightly upset that I've so far had no sleazy messages or propositions!?

    @findingmyway - I agree with burnoutbabe, if they are decent, no men would expect anything from you that you weren't comfortable with.

    Have been emailing 2 guys this weekend who both seem really nice, so at the moment I'm very positive about online dating... could all change in a minute though (o:

    Should I be replying to blokes I don't fancy? I don't want to be ignorant or rude but I don't know what to say to make it clear that I'm not interested but in a 'nice' way :/

    I think it all depends what they have put to be honest – if they have just put hi then I don’t bother but if they have actually read your profile and took time to write a decent message then I just write one back saying ‘thanks for the message but I don’t think you are my type’

    To not reply just seems rude to me – Im not rude or ignorant in real life so im not going to hide behind a computer screen and do it!
