    I didn't need a dating site full stop! :)

No, somehow I didn't think you did ;) In which case it is someone you've known/know of for a while and that's why you're so happy you've finally got together (so to speak) I have been following, and get it even if some don't

I could never date a short fella (sorry if you are a short guy reading this…) Im about 5ft 6 but love my 5 inch heels when I go out!

When I was in my late teens/early 20’s I went out with a guy who was slightly shorter than me and it looked rather odd when we went out – I rarely wore heels for 3 and a half years :(

Hey, only just found this thread!
I've been on POF for about a year now, my mum and dad both met their partners on there so thought I should give it a go! Usually get about 10-20 messages a day, but I'm one of those fussy types so I've only been on 2 dates.
Funnily enough I've 'met' someone on there who I already knew off the site, but we didn't realise we were both looking for the same thing until we started chatting on there! He's just my type so hopefully we'll hit it off when we go on our date!
Never ceases to amaze me how much men overestimate their attractiveness to women though, and also how many men who are clearly pushing 40 or 50 have the cheek to put their age as 25! And of course, I get all the usual creeps sending dirty messages and even pictures! Overall though I do like the site and it's a really good service to say it's free.

I have found pof to be the best free site simply because of the amount of ladies on there..some of the other free ones just dont have enough local girls on there.Long distance relationships work for some people just not for me seeing someone only once every now and again is just so hard if you really like each other. Its a little bit like 50 first dates if you are seeing someone so infrequently..

Yes rachhh some guys I have been told are so in love with themselves not sure why they are bothering dating in the first place really

I've decided not to be ignorant and reply to all those who've made the effort to message me. I just basically put thanks for the message but not interested and had 2 replies saying ok, thanks for replying - no abuse yet :T

Been sort of chatting to this lad, he's more than 10 years younger than me and I've made it clear that nothing will happen between us but he is so cute - if I was 10 years younger I definitely would with no hesitation whatsoever ;)

So aside from him, the only people I'm actively chatting to are; one of my female friends irl and my ex! We've been having a laugh about messages some people send, he said that last week he had 2 messages from 'older' women proclaiming the benefits of them having no teeth

PoF is amusing if nothing else! :rotfl:

If anyone wants to check out my profile it's http://www.pof.com/viewprofile.aspx?profile_id=37256507 you can let me know if there are any improvements I can make :)
    Never say never

Yes rachhh some guys I have been told are so in love with themselves not sure why they are bothering dating in the first place really

One prime example of a man who loves himself just got in touch: http://www.pof.com/viewprofile.aspx?profile_id=34758165

His message was that he would like to make me his girlfriend so he could *ahem* all over my face.
Does that sort of thing EVER work on women?!

As for the replying thing, I don't do that any more, if I politely say they're not my type, they usually ask why, and if I tell them, for example it's because they're 5ft2 and I'm 5ft9, 6ft2 in my favourite heels... that has on several occasions lead to a torrent of abuse such as 'You're ugly anyway, only messaged cause I felt sorry for you *insert personal insults about my appearance here*'
My profile if anyone fancies a nosey: http://www.pof.com/viewprofile.aspx?profile_id=21267888

Tend to keep my personal bit short and sweet because, according to a few males friends, guys my age (19) don't have the attention span to read much more, and they'll already have judged me by my pictures anyway!

hi can I join you fellow internet daters? I've only just started this.
I've finally read this whole thread and caught up, Im on POF and OKCupid (joined those today) and Oasis (where i had one date)
I have to say girlybags if i was a man i'd message you, i love Buffy but i'm also a single mum with red hair so it's not gonna work lol.
Well my date from the oasis man went well, met for coffee then we decided to extend the date; walked holding my hand along the beach, went to art gallery (which we both found boring) had pizza and sat talking for hours. really nice day until ten mins before we were going home, he said he can't do the children thing (i have two, which he knew before he met me), seen him once since then now we don't talk at all. There's plenty more out there, I think?????
