well i should have been on my date tonight, but the weather conspired against us!!!! had bloody loads of snow since this avo and he has his nephews birthday party in the morning & couldnt risk getting stuck over here so asked if we can postpone til next weekend. like i wasnt nervous enough already, now gotta get through another 7 days nerves lol.

The other guys number I got, hmmmmmmm , chatted to him a bit but he came across VERY full on. hes only ever been in one relationship, that ended a yr ago and now hes looking for the right woman cos he wants to settle down and have kids, just needs to find the right woman. Was asking me things like if i want more kids, how passionate a person I am, I felt like i was being interviewed not chatting to someone to get to know them better lol. Havent heard from him for a few days so guess I wasnt the 'right' woman for him lol

I re-joined PoF probably a week ago now, if the right guy comes along then fine, but really I use it just as a distraction and a break from studying! However I had a very un-nerving exchange of emails with a guy which finally finished last night, only lasted a day or so, but this guy was 21 years older than me and was desperate to speak to me - I don't do the phone/texting/personal emails until I have checked the person out thoroughly (bad experience with someone on the site a year ago) and one thing that the guy said (he was 62) was that "someone his age had run out of juice".

I'm not sure whether that was meant in a sexual context, having just checked the message to type the quote I suspect it was, but I found it really strange that a guy the same age as my father would want to have a relationship with someone my age. I'm chatting to someone who can actually string a proper sentence together at the moment, but the older guy really did sort of freak me out a bit!

I joined OkCupid about a week ago, and have had a few messages, but nothing from anyone that really indicates they read my profile. Nothing weird or gross either, just the standard, hi, your profile looks interesting etc etc.

I have sent a few messages, the one guy who looked perfect on paper didnt reply, he did look at my profile. And then the other two replied once and haven't replied again! I dont know what I'm doing wrong. I suppose my profile isn't great either though, I'm not exactly good at selling myself.

I have been reading this thread from the start. Its great to see some people having such good results. It gives me a bit of hope.

Thanks to all you guys on here, I took the plunge and joined POF on Monday. Been totally amazed at the response Ive had. Only one strange one so far, who I've blocked now.
Been chatting to a lovely guy all weekend, he's now asked me on a date! Im terrified lol, never done this before. Ive said yes though!

My Oh and I met on POF 5 years ago, I also met my best friend through the site.

We have been married almost 2 years and BF met and married her husband and now have a beautiful daughter.

BF and I ran and went too local meets and can now call people all over the UK as our friends.
