  • Help! i'm getting worried!!

I started my MCOL claim and Lloyds have 'acknowledged' it - fair enough.

now i'm getting worried over detail and technicality - i made the claim against my local branch, where my account is registered and all my previous bank charge letters and correspondance was sent to.

    will this effect my claim?

    Hi all!

I'm in the middle of filling out the forms on Moneyclaim. They want an address for the Bank (Barclays) but I don't know which one to give! There are about 3 different ones!! I could give them the branch address, the reg. office or the correspondence address. Which one shall I give?!?

    Thanks in advance!

    Doorwoman
  • If the bank have written to you acknowledging your claim and have given the customer services address then use this. If you only have the Head Office Customer Relations, London, E14 5HP address that cannot be used for court claims as nothing can be served on that address. The best is your local branch if you have no other physical address.

    Hi Gavin81,
No it wont affect your claim. I have claimed against my local branch. I was advised to use my local branch so that if it got as far as sending in the bailiffs, thats where they would go. Hope this helps. Chaz

Hi, I have submitted a claim with MCOL and Lloyds have acknowledged the claim. However there is a tab labelled "Judgement" and underneath says start. When I click on start it gives me 2 options: Either, The defendant has not filed an admission or defence to my claim or The defendant admits that all money is owed. Do I need to choose one of these options now or wait until I hear further.

    Hiya

You only need to enter the judgement if Lloyds fail to respond to you after the 28 days are up.

I've had 2 replies from the bank but they are the bog standard "thank you for your complaint" from an address in Leicester. I think I'll put my branch address in. I'm sure they should know what to do with it seeing as that's were my first two letters were sent to.

    Thanks Apathyawakened!

I am just about to file claims against Mint (£140) and Halilfax (£5345). Those amounts don't include interest by the way.

Can someone let me know as the Money Claim site doesn't give this info upfront if there is a sliding scale of costs to claim relative to the amount being claimed as my two amounts are so different.

Also do you have to work out the interest for each individual charge or can you use the simple mathematical formula included in the template on the first page of this thread.

    Thanks

Your fees will be £30 for Mint & £250 for Halifax check out this link

    http://www.hmcourts-service.gov.uk/infoabout/fees/county.htm

From what I've read about the interest, you x your charges only by 0.0022 which will give you the daily interest amount.

    hth x

Actually don't think my answer to your first question is what you meant!

Hey, I just realised that my branch address has got a PO BOX number in it!!!
Shall I just use the Leicester address?

    Hi Doorwoman,
Mine did too. I went onto the internet banking website and looked up my local branch by postcode and it displayed the actual address. Hope this helps. Chaz
