I've had a massive clear out and listed the first dozen (of several hundred) books I want rid of on Amazon. Sold 3 already! chuffed! Interestingly I've not sold the ones I priced too cheaply so I've revised the prices and learnt my lesson. My Doctor told me that "1 out of 3 people who start smoking will eventually die." The other two apparently became immortal.

what kind of things do you guys put in you description? I am not a book expert so I don't want to try and sound too clever just incase it backfires on me! I have just put that the item will be dispatched within 24 hours.
cheers everyoneLife may not be the party we hoped for, but while we're here we should dance....0 -

I put as much detail as possible about any damage at all (creases, annotations, bent corners etc.)
I also mention fast dispatch and the fact that I am a UK seller (to distinguish from the American sellers).
Good luck with the sales!0 -
My descriptions sound spookily similar to Jo_bs, I mention I'm a UK seller and then I describe any faults to the book, torn DJs, crumpled pages etc.

Where's best to sell Book Club editions - I've got loads, both my own, and some within a job lot I bought (not described unfortunately).
I guess not on Amazon - am i stuck with a boot sale or auction?
MoamAlthough no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.... life is a WIP.

You would be able to sell them on www.greenmetropolis.com for a set return of £3 per book (unless they are heavy enough to charge extra P+P)
Alternatively you could swap them for other books on www.readitswapit.co.uk
I also list some Book Club editions on Amazon but make sure that I point this out clearly in the description.0 -
I have just subscribed as a Pro Merchant on Amazon, I sold 13 books in the last 30 days, so almost there.
How do I go about listing items that arent on Amazon already. I have searched the Help pages but cant find it anywhere. Sorry to be aso thick, but I'm sure someone has mentioned it on here.

so if it was your book how far under the £18. 75 would you price yours at....? or what would price would you put on yours
How desperate for the money are you?
If you said you paid less than the £18.75 for it new then I'd be tempted to list it at about £17 so that the first person who wanted one would buy mine. Obviously you've then got the possibility of the £18.75 seller undercutting you again. And so it goes on and on and on I imagine?
I imagine not many people would buy this book? That would make people searching for it few and far between? Is there a way on Amazon of finding out how many of a book has sold - like ebay?
If you are not in a huge rush for the cash and dont mind waiting around then you can list it for any price in the bracket and sit it out!
I'm not an experienced Amazon seller so this is just my little personal opinion!Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...0 -
hi.....Quackers....
thanks... i was thinking about a £ or 2 under the lowest price...... as you say its not a common book so whats the point of putting it really low.... as i prop.. going to be twiddling my thumbs waiting for it to sell anyway...Work to live= not live to work0 -
