Foxybabe I am interested to find this out too as I only post to UK and wonder if my sales would increase if I cast my net wider, however I hate hassle and I am sure you have to be extra careful with your pricing to take into account the cost of posting.

I upped the price of my book by £10 and emailed the buyer and said I would leave it at that price for a few days so she could decide if she wanted to pay the extra for postage.

I have all my listings available worldwide. The amazon postage allowance is more for overseas sales and this generally covers the extra cost. Some books are more lkely to sell overseas if they haven't been published in that country. I've not yet had a book costing more to post than I received, except some 1p books, sent to the UK and that was my fault for not checking postage prices 1st!

I THINK you can go into your listings page, close the item then relist it changing the delivery to 'rest of world' or whatever it is called. When you then press 'submit the listing' it will give you a list of the Amazon postage allowances for the different areas - this might help you with deciding whether the postage allowance is sufficient or if you need to up the price to cover it....

Ive just decided as my sales are so pap at the moment to change some to international delivery,

If you go to open listings , the 2nd from the right box says edit from here you can alter the description etc and also pick different delivery options . Im not sure if this is just for pro-sellers but its very quick and easy to do !

My orders appeared later thank goodness though I had sold none! I too had tried the different days but it still showed nothing, so in a panic I went and downloaded all my open listings just in case Amazon lost me altogether....

Fingers crossed for my February target! Jan was a great month for me since going pro (full price grrr....) and so much is down to the good advice from here. Now desperate to replace and build up stock!

My sales turned up as well, so I did manage to email all my buyers and let them know book was sent.

I have just sold another book and that sale means I have now covered my half price pro seller fees for the full 3 months already, and only signed up on the 9th Jan!

AT must be getting bored with me, but can I just say

    Thank You

  • Hi soo, it's been an amazing few weeks with your sales, it's all down to a positive mental attitude (and a few new books! ;) )
  • Just sold my first item :j: Bit complicated though - it's the item I had a buyer waiting for, a children's video that's no longer available. I've got a copy which we were given as a gift and have never played so I listed it as 'New'. But when I came to wrap it up it occured to me that it's not shrink wrapped so I'm a little paranoid in case it wasn't new when we were given it. Have emailed the buyer to check she is OK with that - it sold for £10! :):) Fingers crossed..........

    A 'few' new books :o

I bought so many on Monday from my new source that after bagging them all up it dawned on me I couldn't physically carry them. I had to sit and wait for my youngest to come home from school and come and meet me. I asked him to bring a trolley, but he refused point blank to be seen with one, so we struggled home laden down with bags.

I've currently 807 listed which is a lot for me. My only concern is that I seem to be selling mainly my new listings, so my old stock may need to be reviewed. If necessary I can get rid of some old stuff to make room for new. I have for example an entire box of football related books, some signed, most are old, but have never ever sold even one of them.

HI Soo, well done on the sales - trolleys are so not cool - I remember my mum MAKING me go shopping with hers, at the time I'd rather my arms fell off from carrying too many bags than be seen with it [tartan mmmmh] :rotfl:

I would have thought there's quite a big market for football books especially if any of it is club related? Would it be worth putting it in to an auction?

My sales have dropped right off - the only things I've sold in 3 weeks are 2 books I recently listed, they were a free annual from my book people offer and I listed some of the cookery book set from there that I'll never use and one went same day for 1p. Need to call on the services of the selling fairy again......
