  • Hi boston - yes, mine too - it's a bit scary to see an empty page  a glitch I'm sure

    Hi AT

I think the glitch is now fixed, there was a notice on the Sellers Board that said:

    Greetings from Amazon,

We are currently experiencing a technical issue which is impacting the ability to view your recent Marketplace orders in your Seller Account on Amazon.co.uk. Engineers are actively engaged on resolving this issue and we will continue to provide updates until service has been restored.

    Thank You,

    Technical Account Management

    Hello everyone :hello:

Have just posted my first lot of books and CDs on Amazon so hoping to join you when some stuff actually sells! Best price was for a very obscure kids video we got as a freebie, apparently not available new, and a buyer waiting? Well, we shall see whether that comes to anything!

spiddy100, a buyer waiting item..how exciting I've never had one of those :j

Talking of exciting...is it just me or does everyone get a real thrill walking home with a big bag of books wondering if you have any gems? I got another bag load today, I just knew they were good ones and yep, several were in excess of £20 and the majority were in the price range £5-£12 which seems to be the ones that sell bst for me.

    Hi everyone,

Hope sales are going well! Haven't posted in here in about 3 weeks I think - that is very naughy of me, been very busy :o

My feedback is pretty much sorted now and my sales have picked up again so I am happy.

I only noticed today that you had started a new thread a week and half ago! I was still subscribed to the old thread and it came to an end, so went looking for this one and it has 13 or so pages already!! Got much catching up to do.

If anyone ever sees any open university textbooks in charity shops/bootsales or whatever, give a little more leniency on that date than the other textbooks because the coursebooks for the OU are not updated very often. I recently bought 2 OU textbooks from 2 separate charity shops, the first cost me £2, purchased it before christmas, it was 1998 and it sold for £30!! The second one I bought last week and it sold this week for £17, bought for £1 and it was 1999. My cut-off for textbooks are usually 2002, but I lowered it for the OU ones on a hunch coz I know they don't update very often.

    Hi

Someone can help me. I have had a request from a customer asking if I could send a book airmail to South Africa. It weighs nearly 700g unwrapped. I have it priced at £14.00. Can anyone of you experts calculate the cost for me?

Also would I have to edit my listing to add in the postage cost??

I really don't want to end up out of pocket - it looks like it would cost a lot! In the past whenever I have done something out of the ordinary I end up regretting it. I cannot tell from my leaflet which zone it is in 1 or 2. Any advice much appreciated. Cheers.

As a small packet it would cost £7.23, at 700g.
I always use the price finder link on the right hand side of the post office website http://www.royalmail.com/portal/rm/home/

    Hi Larmy

Using Royal Mail Price Finder for 800g to South Africa gives £8.18 if sent as a Small Packet.

I THINK you can go into your listings page, close the item then relist it changing the delivery to 'rest of world' or whatever it is called. When you then press 'submit the listing' it will give you a list of the Amazon postage allowances for the different areas - this might help you with deciding whether the postage allowance is sufficient or if you need to up the price to cover it....

Is it worth dispatching worldwide? I have only just started listing on amazon so am still finding things out. I don't want loads of hassle as i am only selling my own books as I clear them out so there isn't that many.

    cheers everyone
