  • I sold 2 books yesterday so hopefully things are on a roll again. It's probably down to the fact that most people have just been paid after Christmas so have started shopping again. One of them was a 10p library which I've had listed for awhile so that was result.
I'm going to have the daunting task of moving house in the next few weeks so need you all to send me big MOANS to sell as many books as possible so it's less to pack!!!
My mantra is "Never pay full price!" ;)

plus I'm starting to get wise to the cheap packaging suppliers out there.

    Can you enlighten me?

Packaging costs put a big dent in my profits.

Could I have some advice please? I've been selling just my own stuff since 1st November and these are my figures:

    23 items sold
    Total Payments Received: GBP 101.28
    Total Payments Canceled: GBP 2.76
    Total Payment Fees: GBP -38.68
    Grand Total: GBP 65.36

Would it be worth my while getting the half price pro merchant account? I've got plenty more to list, get books given to me for free and I'm willing to do the second hand bookshop thing.

    Hi Sammz

If you sell more than 32 items in a calendar month it is worth you going pro. This is based on the 86p closing fee that you save on each item when you go pro.

    Hi Sammz,

to make the half price pro-merchant thing worth your while you need to sell at least 15 items a month so its really up to whether you think you can do that? I think some folk sell quite a few 1p or very cheap books within their 15 [or 30 when its full price]. How many listings do you have or will you have as I think pro-merchants tend to have quite a few? I've only got 150 or so and at the most sell 9 or 10 a month so I know its not worth my while as yet.

    Good luck

    Hi there Wombat

Welcome to the thread, you're right, everyone here is really nice - I only joined relatively recently (it's probably longer than I think) and they've been just great.

How much stuff do you guys have on amazon, and do you get regular sales or can you go for a long time without selling anything? Nothing for me yet but I only have a few books on and they have only been on for a few days. My account shows "just launched" will this make much difference to my sales do you think?

    Thans everyone.
