sold a dvd yesterday (a new one I'd got free from the play/independent thing before Christmas) priced myself just below amazon jersey but over £1 more than the lowest one and it sold in about a week and I made £3.68 after postage on it. I checked the others and they were all just launched or people with about 10 or less feedback (or low %'s) I've got 23 feedbacks at 100% positive - so guess this guy was willing to pay more to someone with some good feedback - hoping he leaves me feedback nowInitial Mortgage January 2024 - £160,000

Sold my first book today, truth be told wasn't expecting it to sell so quickly so had to buy a jiffy bag at the PO. It was a uni textbook, roughly A4 sized, think it was about 350g and it cost £5.59 to send first class
. For next time, what's the cheapest way to send a book that sort of size and weight in about 2-3 working days ?
TIAThis is getting addictive!

Hi there,
I think that the jiffy cost more than the stamp! if it was 350g the post would hae been £1.70 ist class or £1.39 second. Second class would have been OK if you'd sent it the same day or the next but after that it would have to be 1st.
I'd look for some cheaper jiffys, either viking (webside address in the first post) ebay or pound shops are your best bet0 -
Nah must have been a lot heavier than I thought then as it definitely cost £5.59 to send first classThis is getting addictive!

it must have weighed between 1.25-1.5kg to cost £5.59!
you could have sent by standard parcels for £4.95
or sellers on ebay offer parcelforce 24 courier services for £4.99 sometimes0 -
Did the £5 + include the jiffy though?0

Hi,
I've got a question for you well oiled Amazon'ers
I've got a book to sell but the ISBN number doesn't come up on amazon. When I do a search for the book by the title name it is there. The publication year is the same but the ISBN no's are different. They are both hardbacks too.
Should I be checking anything else?
And can I still list the book as the other ISBN no? But it doesn't seem right to do this!
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks for all the great tips - I've sold a book for £8 today that has been sitting in a box in the garage - I'm well chuffed. If i'd have ebayed of boot saled it then I would have only got £2 at most for itSometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...0
